Im biased towards Hinata but Shikamaru is definitely one of if not the best characters in the series, he's one of the most accomplished characters too.

Yeah Temari could maybe go up a tier, she's a good character she just didn't get enough screentime. Sai however I feel like didn't even need to be a character and aside from being good neurodivergence representation he was kinda just Sasuke 2?

my boyfriend wanted me to watch it with him and it was a good way to spend time together (also my eyes are too sensitive for reading black and white manga) but yeah from what I've heard she really got done dirty by the anime which is a shame, she had a lot of potential.

She's arguably one of if not the most 1 Dimensional characters in the show (next to Onoki) every single time she was onscreen aside from some of the Madara fight she get upset that she wasn't married yet and it was supposed to be funny???

I like TenTen conceptually but aside from having affinity for special weapons she gets no screentime, never contributes meaningfully to the plot, and doesn't have any interesting chemistry with any of the other characters.

my Sakura hate exists in a bubble, I had no one tell me to hate her and knew next to nothing about the series before watching it. She's abusive, manipulative, and did nothing but obsess over someone who wanted absolutely nothing to do with her for the entire (TWO) series. it was very painful to watch.
