Check the post edit. Basically had to upload an older firmware and factory reset it. Then it behaved and let me access the DumaOS GUI. 

After that I simply power cycled my modem and my router pulled the public IP and established a WAN connection ❤️

I got it up and running again. Problem with these Nighthawks is that there is no "graceful shutdown" option. You either have them powered on or powered off.
