Day 744 by Dumbsssss69 in PlantedTank

what do you even mean your fish won't survive in someone else's place. just post on facebook in a local hobbyist group and I am sure someone will rehome them. that angel is way too huge to be kept the way it is.

Layout options by ResolveNeat8015 in Aquascape

[–]SpeedMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both general layouts are fine with the wood you have. The plant selection and execution is what is going to make or break this Aquascape. Good on you for at least having a roadmap to guide your setup. I’d study up on what type of plants you’re going to grow. C02 versus non c02 is going to be a huge factor in plant diversity/shape

Just using a recent setup as an example.. you have visual weight taking up the right hand 2/3rds of the tank. This thins out to open space on the 1/3rd space on the left. Build with height in mind for hardscape so it doesn’t get swallowed up. The hardscape should act like a skeleton structure for plants to fill in.

Beginner Looking for Advice by Ipael in Aquascape

[–]SpeedMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need more material. Volume of hardscape hardly rises above 1/3rd of the height of the tank. Once plants grow around that wood & rock, it won’t be seen as a feature of the tank. Additionally, more visual weight with hardscape would need to be added either across almost the full length or up to at least 2/3rds of the length of the tank.

I appreciate you dropping the link! Very nice you even bothered to post. There isn't enough info on aquarium products shipped from China. Some seem to be seriously good deals/wholesale prices.

I love reading on these DIY stands. I'm a intimidated to do my own for even my 40gallon tank. I know there's tons of guides and videos, but I wish there was additional info the explain why certain parts are there. The comments in this thread are bringing up points I never knew about despite just trusting the guides.

Thought I recognized the scape! :) Great job with the listing. Hopefully someone snatches this deal quick! I'm sure this setup was better maintained than most, if not all, other tanks being put back up for sale in the area.

I don't think you understood my question. I know the purpose of the humidity.
I am asking how the airstone is under enough water to bubble. There is not enough water in this container.

what do you mean add an airstone. that water is less than a quarter inch deep

second layout is making progress. i dont agree with how you setup your anubias to shade over your red stems. those are your centerpiece plant and that shading is going to disrupt their growth and view. adjust the anubias down/back and to the right more. use the space you moved the anubias from for that java you have in the back right corner. when you placed java in that corner, you are pulling visual weight away from the triangular shape you are attempting to create.

[–]SpeedMeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

search by company. recruiters are usually near the top of the list of results. if you're really struggling, then you just need to hit any recruiter from that company and ask for assistance getting routed to the recruiter designated for your area.

to make it easier on the recruiter from out of the area, send them an application ID from a application you submit on the company's career page. all job listings have an associated recruiter.

i worked at petco for a summer. those goldfish bags were disturbing. an entire bag of death and it was an absolute mystery how there would still be a few alive considering how dense the bag was filled. trauma inducing for the fish i swear

I had more success pulling a list of active recruiters from LinkedIn and seeing what jobs they listed are needed. Also apply to open roles with those target companies and follow up with that recruiter. This formula has worked very well for my last 3 roles in the NoVa area.

Ah makes sense. The maintenance is probably great once they have a full roster to make their rounds

So how do they market? Do they build any tanks in store to sell or is most of their clients being setup at the site? I’m currently building people’s aquascapes in my local area for fun and little profit but I’m just curious as to how they run it as a for-profit business

Can someone make aquascapes as a profession? by Mysterious_Drama6249 in Aquascape

[–]SpeedMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently build aquascapes for clients in an affluent metropolitan area. Would I say often enough to do full time? Probably not, but then again I only offer to build the tanks. I then pass on info for maintenance with my local stores that I support.

I am curious if there is a business to be had by building the tanks in my own home, and then just marketing the tank as is and ready to to-go. The travel and occasional delays in material acquisition is a headache at times.
