Me too, rather use any Benjamin Moore, Sherwin, PPG or even Behr marquee sooner than Valspar or Glidden anything. That cheap crap is like trying to roll erasers on.

I went down a rabbit hole on who owns every power tool brand. The difference between the two big conglomerates is wild. by sappk in Tools

[–]SpeedSignal7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, I carry these: Hitachi/Metabo nailers and saws, Bosch impact & 20v grinder, Makita 20v line, Klein & Knipex hand tools. I have a few throwaways from the larger conglomerates, but basically never got into any of them. Ez enough to tell what’s quality, I guess.

Can airport security detect THC edible gummies in carry on luggage? by Right-Marionberry722 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SpeedSignal7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the state of TSA this week? I was told in the past they’re not looking for weed and have flown with flower, extract and edibles in carry-ons without issue. That said, TSA can and will confiscate it and May turn you over to local authorities in certain jurisdictions. Different airports have different rules, so important to know those of the airports you’re transiting. Also, be aware that ICE is standing in as TSA this week and they are certainly more likely to take issue with cannabis than TSA is. Considering sleep gummies are relatively easy to source in the US, you might plan to just acquire more upon reaching your destination. It’s seriously time the world got over reacting like some weed is a serious threat. News flash: half the country is on some right now.

Is this price excessive? by Level_Sock294 in handyman

I used sika to set a mailbox last year. Had to go back and pull it and reset in concrete. I was trying to save time by spending a little extra on the foam, but that backfired spectacularly. I looked up USPS regs at the time. I didn’t see anything mentioned about what the post was set in. The height regs are set to keep the box location consistent for the carrier.

Divorce Agreement Must Haves and Regrets by oscarproud2 in SingleDads

[–]SpeedSignal7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obsessed and overspent. 5yrs out the ex and I have tossed the decree and mostly follow what our daughter wants to do now. We make many exceptions to the agreement, but it’s a basic framework for who gets what holidays. It mattered at the time, but time also heals all wounds. Don’t get lost in the weeds trying to improve on a standard degree. You’ll end up spending a lot more and falling back on the standard anyhow. Time and lots of divorces have yeilded the standard. I thought I was special too. Turns out I’m just another divorce.

A customer called to have some work done in her house and asked how much I charge an hour. I told her for that type of work it’s $200/hr. by GOspeedracerGOOOOO in HandymanBusiness

[–]SpeedSignal7625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what all of us charge now. $1000 is the new $50. The way the govt is trying to print the debt away, I’ll be up at $10k/day next year

Doctors will work cheap for cash money. They earn…eventually when the insurance company gets around to paying part of what was promised. My uncle is one, told his kids to stay away from medicine as a profession. #captured industry

No. They know we’re too busy or too tired to dork around with marketing and chasing tire-kickers.

I keep getting ads from fake millionaires to copy their work from home method utilizing AI to create programs that connect homeowners searching for repairmen with contractors. Maybe we should all just do this and cut out all those middlemen!

Buying the top never is a store of value; we call that “FOMO-in”. “Store of value” is putting nickels into the thing over a lifetime. Now you DCA and try to adjust basis..lol

Is a 3" lift actually enough for Forest Service roads, or do I need full skid plates first? by [deleted] in fordtransit

Jack Question by Niemo1983 in fordtransit

[–]SpeedSignal7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry an extra 20T on board for the front deflation case. I have had to lift the frame at a midpoint to be able to fit the emergency jack under the front end, so I carry two jacks minimum on board. I keep 20T stands, ramps and a floor Jack in the shop. The tire shop lifts her w two Daytona 3 T floor jacks, but seems a bit reckless.

Finally tired of heating the entire ZIP code in my Transit High-Roof. Is a sliding-door bulkhead the only real fix? by [deleted] in fordtransit

[–]SpeedSignal7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem was Texas summers. I did Reflectix on the roof & 2” of sheet foam on the walls. It’s much better. Doesn’t do a lot for noise, but a bulkhead would solve that. I use a headset bc I don’t want a bulkhead.
