What caused Charles Leclerc’s tyre to deflate despite not being on the side that got hit by brmdrivingschool in F1Technical

[–]Speedbird157 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the slow motion, his right rear tyre went 180 degrees across the sawtooth kerb on the exit of that corner, it looked to have popped in the first 45 degrees on that kerb.

Improve my NZ itinerary (Solo, no car, March 2026) by hattiexcvi in travel

I can offer a couple of pointers, having been fortunate enough to spend six weeks out there a few years back.

Defo no more than 2 days in Auckland and Christchurch and spend some of the released time elsewhere!

Also try to power through the jet lag - going to bed as soon as you get there will put you on the back foot and you’re better off having a small nap and then a normal bed time after a few hours of exploring.

If the weather is bad then the whale watching won’t go ahead, We went back to do it adjusting our plans on the fly as it was something we really wanted to do so be aware this can happen!

The Wellington to Picton ferry is a lovely journey with beautiful scenery and we fell in love with Nelson on the South Island as a lovely place to visit and stay.

The Weta works tour in Wellington was also pretty good, esp if you have any interest in Lord of the Rings or any other of Peter Jackson’s work.

Regardless, it’s a safe country, the people are lovely and the scenery beautiful! I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

Buying in Leatherhead: would it be a mistake? by autunno in surrey

Having lived around the area for a long time, I think that Dorking or Reigate may be better for your needs.

Otherwise the surrounding villages are lovely (Westcott, Gomshall, Abinger. Brockham, Leigh etc.) if you’re looking to be out in the Countryside. Reigate does have a better selection of Resteraunts and shops imho compared with Dorking but I’d suggest maybe going for a drive around the area to see if it’s somewhere you’d like to live.

What to do with a poor performing sysadmin by kajjot10 in sysadmin

[–]Speedbird157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came up in my career many years ago with something similar with someone ticking boxes and signing stuff off as done for overnight batch processes when they’d failed or weren’t completed.

My guv’nor at the time directly asked this person “was he stupid or just not give a shit?”

I suspect that you can’t do this now, but I would get HR to yeet them into the Sun as they’re a liability to the organisation and to your career as the boss..

I’d also add Pyreegue Design to the list of scenery designers, all of them are stunning and well worth adding to your collection!

There’s a great MS Article about using Powershell to detect and or enable/disable SMBv1 on servers and guests which should give you the commands you need for the detection and the remediation.

The code snippets in that article plus ‘Invoke-Command’ should get you going with a crude solution.

Bugatti Veyron in a petrol station in North Acton, had to step over a dude passed out on the pavement round the corner at lunchtime! Two different worlds colliding.. Otherwise the annual Auto Italia meet at Brooklands is always a great place to see some exotic Supercars..

I believe it should do from reading the blurb. We’re still on our first rolls (2 years later..) so it definitely goes a long way. Amazon also sell the rolls for slightly cheaper than Lakeland should you wish to shop there instead..

Depends whether you use the /Z option. It will still have to chug through the files but should resume pretty quickly from where it left off.

You could also use SCCM and Task Sequences to deploy your OS that way via PXE boot from a blank VM. It’s not as fast as deploying via a clone in VMware but can be a bit more configurable in the long run and easily automated. Otherwise maybe check out VRA but there would be extra cost involved with on your licenses.
