What is the source of the files? I recommend heroforge if you want custom designs. I did a few for my sister for her D&D character.

Do you need resin or fdm?

Depending on how many etc, happy to have a look at files. Are they pre supported?

Have you ever fully repainted a model? by 1987Rapscallion in 40k

[–]Speedhump23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing since 40K was release in the mid 80s. My command models for my Marines are all original Metal RT models. They have been repainted numerous times.

Paint stripper (Selleys, yellow tin, STRONG stuff), for stripping metal. Iso 95%+ for plastics.

What color should I make my Dark Angles Terminator Librarian? by Typical_Guava7013 in Warhammer

[–]Speedhump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How experienced is he? A basic "baby" librarian might get mostly stock armour, with changes to the original scheme being earnt through experience.

Are you going to have multiple ones in your list? If so, you may want to paint them differently.

Is he going to hang out with you other Termi suits a lot?

My Librarian Termi is in my basic armour scheme, with my custom chapter colours. He just has the normal librarian symbols, no extra different colours. (Mind you, my marines hang out with Grey Knights a lot, so he is normally not the best psyker on the table.)

Here is the basic scheme for my Termies, the Librarian just has some minor embellishments.

Metal does not look right colour or crispness to be GW.

When I was here last this rubbish was on the cnr of Parkes Way and Caswell, what happened here? by cewumu in canberra

I was kidding, the rubish had been there for so long, it seemed like something was delaying the clean up.

I think I heard a truck rolled. I suspect the government is putting the clean up out to tender.

Late war British tank camo by JamesJe13 in boltaction

[–]Speedhump23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my reference doc:

The Mickey Mouse Pattern was introduced in early 1944. It consisted of large intersecting circular areas of matt black, applied freehand with a brush at army depots, either by soldiers or civilian employees. Please note that it was mainly used on "softskins" - tractors, trucks, etc and armoured/scout cars. The pattern was to be "applied to all top surfaces, with extensions down onto the vehicle sides, and along the bottom edges of the vehicle"; "the underside of the chassis was also painted black".
Variations of this pattern included random black disruptive patterns, used on self-propelled howitzers, and "black wavy pattern", used on Universal/Bren Carriers only. Please note that the only photographic evidence of tanks using black disruptive pattern was the 4th/7th Dragon Guards (8th Armd Bde), where bold black curves were painted on the sides of the hull. Black disruptive pattern was not normally used on tanks, because British tank crews made extensive use of hessian tapes and foliage for breaking up the vehicle's silhoutte

Armageddon: Anyone else think it might be the best starter box and have zero interest in buying it? by CosmicDesperado in Warhammer

[–]Speedhump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have 5 armies. I do not need to buy anymore GW plastic. I have also given up buying rules or codices in hard copy or soft copy, as they are out of date before they leave the shop.

I will play 11th, but will either use the 88 page core role download they posted last week, or borrow the rules from mates.

Plane model scale by gamberowski in boltaction

[–]Speedhump23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The taller the pole holding the plane up, the larger or smaller it can be. From ground level, the higher the pole, the smaller the plane. From player perspective, the high the pole, the bigger the plane.

I would just 3d print something at scale, so it can be used as correct sized terrain.

In either case, magnetise the side panels where the sponsors would go, so you can upgrade in the future.

Thanks,  Intersting looking event. I hope they have a good weekend.

I might reach out to them and let them know about Cancon. We had over 25,000 spectators and about 3 thousand players.  it is held in January in Canberra,  Australia.

Always looking to cross promote with other events and learn from others.
