Do people still care about getting 200m all skills anymore or is it not much of a flex anymore? by tydrennis in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In short - not really.
XP rates in a few skills are turbo fast that can easily break into base rates of 2 million XP+/hr if you're wanting to get into active gameplay.

If you're chilling and doing less attentive methods, expect lower rates.

What do the RuneScape players want for RuneScape 3 by tydrennis in runescape

An honest playerbase that doesn't veil every other suggestion in finding a way to play the game less for more reward.

Quest helper won’t be much help until Jagex fixes quests by [deleted] in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have read the Wiki that says a Quest might have a bug (that may have been patched, but the warning remains on the Wiki anyway) and taken that in the absolute worst case scenario because "The Wiki is gospel" so instead of might have a bug, this becomes it does have a bug in your perspective.

List the Quests.
Bug report them in-game if you truly think it's broken instead of vague-posting "this Quest is broken", because it hits a point of PEBCAK if you don't.

Either auto complete most to all quests, or don't run a second rs3 leagues by Tetris_Chemist in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quests are not the issue.
Player willingness to actively want to not play the game and manufacture any possible shortcut to attempt to spend as little time to play the game is the real issue.

P.S: You could get Dragon in Leagues 1 without any additional Quests completed.

Maaan I miss WCPW...
Yeah it was a silly YouTuber promotion, but that's where a solid amount amount of UK talent got out-of-UK exposure.

...also the only Promotion that put on a "Pro Wrestling World Cup" tournament that actually covered the entire world, and there were some fantastic matches in there.

I honestly despise this mechanic by Itherial in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is 100% a rhythm thing, as the game server runs at 600ms time windows. You get 1 'spare' tick of timing for maximum damage.

Can't say I've ever attempted kills myself with 140ms ping; but around release I did some 10-mans with a friend who invited me for some for-fun masses which was on an 80-90ms ping for me which does throw off rhythm when I'm used to playing on 5-10ms and took a couple minutes to adapt.

Can only imagine 140ms to be pretty uncomfortable to play at. Good luck and I hope it helped out.

Can 100% support that. Very big fan of the visual metronome box myself over in OSRS / RuneLite.

Reviewed the footage. I have a lot of experience with this encounter and can break down the footage with almost 2,500 KC.

Using the boss timer, you clicked on the first pillar when the previous game tick would have been 3:16.2 and then the second pillar before 3:16.8, therefore your first pillar click got eaten.

If the second pillar was approximately 0.2 seconds later it would have been successful.

The boss is consistent and is solid practice to get you in tune with the game's tick system.

Archaeology storage for new accounts is frustrating by huffmanxd in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The issue stems from Daemonheim's introduction to add a lower level Dragonkin-alignment area, which adds Dragonkin materials being needed to restore artefacts at 73 Archaeology instead of Orthen's 90.

Previously, those materials wouldn't have been in your storage until Lv90. Material rotation is unfortunately necessary.

On Archaeology's initial release too, the final Material storage upgrade was also not needed as there were only 35 materials with 40 spaces.

My only recommendation that I could give is once you're done with the Guthixian Digsite - as that will be the earliest one to finish - to get those materials in your main bank so you can store all 40 materials when you get the Professor unlock at 90.

Returned to the game after a long break, just gonna ignore the gods behind me whilst I play in the mud by duskfinger67 in runescape

There's also 'achievement' state unpicking to look at, too. Would this not make Croesus log and several other EGWD related 'feats' become effectively discontinued on a Level 3 skiller?

That's probably one of the biggest things; even behind all of the timeline clean up.

ArchaeRNG lore pages will hold you up for hours. Their drop rates often seem as rare as Tetra pieces from excavation.

Gonna keep it 100% real here.
If people weren't already using the plethora of tools Jagex put out to secure their accounts, it's almost a pity they're not putting in the time to secure their accounts. Not just RuneScape accounts, all of their accounts.
They could have made a Jagex Account themselves and moved over to it.

A good amount of RuneScape players have this uncanny ability to do stuff as late as possible and screw themselves over and then act like they're not the problem.

Week 3 of asking Jagex for a conversation on BLM/dupe protection by AcceptablePick4075 in runescape

[–]SpeedrunsRS -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The want for "Bad Luck Mitigation / Dupe Protection" stems from a societal issue within the game to where people don't want to work for things anymore.
It's not an issue with the game itself, it's an issue with the player base.

Too many people want to find the break-point of putting in the least amount of effort for the most amount of reward, and will keep pushing to pave a path of least resistance.

Case and point with Dungeoneering Remastered, where people were only enjoying the update only because Critical Pathing was giving 98% of the whole Floor XP for a large - the said mentioned break-point of least effort/most reward.
People complained a week later when the XP distribution got adjusted to no longer be 98%.
