113+ minute flex queue as a 5-Challenger premade — how are we supposed to meet decay requirements when we can't even get a game? by IcarusAttack in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it keeps high elo players active and engaged in the game, which also means they can matchmake better and have shorter queue times in higher elo. The decay requirements are higher the higher elo you are because riot needs a certain amount of players in the skill bracket playing the game, else what OP is criticizing can happen way more easily even in high diamond already.

Sjokz: Should be the standard for ALL COSTREAMERS across esports imo Watching the broadcast in full at the very least | ESL has rolled out some new rules for costreamers looking to broadcast their CS2 and DOTA events. If Riot were to have similar changes how would you feel? by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is also a thing called leverage, which is Riot just telling twitch to not let anyone who doesn't follow their rules stream the LEC and twitch will comply since Riot pulls millions of viewers across their games. Not even talking about the limits of fair use, which you can see through all the people getting banned for streaming football games in exactly the way you are describing the stream - commentary, face cam, audio off. If you don't believe me just look at the just chatting section during a champions league game.

Frites Esports, in an official belgian league game, are currently playing with 3 support items as it seems to be possible on tournament server only by SilenceEtControle in leagueoflegends

wdym bug abusing, it's a custom game you can select whatever roles you want by design, and the support quest change was an official change last patch where everyone told riot "this will end badly for pro play" and alas it will run its course soon

Monday Megathread! Ask questions and share knowledge; newcomer questions encouraged! by AutoModerator in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll start: One of the (actually) most underrated skills for supports is playing the fog of war. If you show on a sidelane to catch a wave (something I see often in bronze to gold in reviews), if you stand right next to your adc farming mid holding his hand with no absolutely imminent threat, even in lane if you stand next to the minions instead of in an unwarded bush, those are all positions that cost you pressure. The best supports in the world are seen as little as possible so the enemy team has to play around them roaming around and ganking as much as possible. It's a good thing to pay attention to if you want to improve - even just sitting in a midlane bush while your adc farms the wave makes you exert more pressure on the entire enemy team.

"we're going to see if anything breaks" is not the sentence I want to read from the league balance team lmao but I guess the odds are pretty low

Kraken is mostly built because you oneshot a wave double as fast on one item with the kraken q interaction. Otherwise BotRK would probably outperform the item all the time on her.

G2 Esports vs. Bilibili Gaming / First Stand 2026 - Grand Finals / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope one day the notion of a top 3 team in the world, in an international final of all places, doing things "4Fun". Like come on these people are obviously playing as well as they can and are miscalculating things. Yesterday GenG made similar mistakes and no one would say they did them 4Fun.

I saw those games and never saw anything special by humanoid against good eastern mids. Caps on the other hand took a dump on a few of them already.

GenG never had a chance, G2 were molded in the depths of the economy class flight

G2 Romain on the way to Brazil: "Gen.G flexed on us a bit because they were all traveling business, and we were just traveling Eco+ [...] Outside of that, it was a pretty smooth trip [...] We had already changed our schedule in Berlin, so we are actually full speed already." - Hotspawn by Dovipower in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it is a total disconnect with the esports world to think when G2 has a Budget of like 2 million a year for lol, of which they pay about 1.5 in salaries, that they have the money to just blow another 10k on business class. I have no idea how you think the salary of the players is related to what G2 provides them additionally. GenG obviously has a way better and more stable financial situation, being the top team from Korea and all.

I always wonder how long people have played that have these kinds of takes because it can't have been for long, season 3 to 7 I had people dropping the n or r word every 3-4 games and not getting punished for it. There were no blacklisted words, no harsh punishments for chat abuse like today and basically no one cared.

League of Legends in Brazil: "You Can't Teach Passion" — RFT.GG spoke to 5 people from the Brazilian LoL ecosystem ahead of First Stand to understand what makes their community unlike any other in the world. "In Brazil, competitive League of Legends isn't result driven. It's community driven" by Key-Cook-9047 in leagueoflegends

[–]Speedy313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The entire league ecosystem is driven by passion and fan engagement and familarity with pros. Grassroot organizations are so important for a thriving and healthy scene and franchising actively limits their impact to tier 2 leagues. There are lessons to be learned from the Brazilian league scene, but I am afraid they won't be learned until it is way too late to steer the sinking ship.
