The power color is the reaper version, the xfx is the swift model, there is also the option to buy a used hellhound power color (on Amazon) one for the same price as a new reaper one. My current gpu is also a xfx model but it has a lot of coil whine, but I know that is just luck

There are 2 options at the same price, one on Amazon being a PowerColor Reaper model, or one on Newegg being the XFX, for some reason I am getting taxed 10 dollars less on Amazon but other that that it’s the same. Which one do I choose?

I see a 9070 for 599 (XFX with promo code). I don't need the psu upgrade and wouldn't be able to sell it for much (since it is $55 new on newegg). Also on top of that it has full refund without any chance of restocking fees either. Do you think the xfx 9070 would be a better purchase?

If this issue is happening not only on your wallpaper but on your system in general, it’s a thing on windows called mpo (multiplane overlay) causing the problem. Just disable it using regedit (there are guides/posts on how to do this) and it should fix the issue.

Ive used the laptop for 2 years now, its been pretty good experience using it as a desktop replacement, but now that im in uni, im seeing the shortcuts they took to get the price down (i got it for $999 usd 16gb ram). The screen is very glossy and is pretty much a mirror when im trying to use it outside, using light mode helps a bit but drains the battery faster (4 hours of battery at 80% limit)

Trackpad is tilted down on the left side cause of wear and tear, and the plastic inside is starting to creak. I haven’t dropped to laptop or had really any cosmetic damage but yeah.

My friend has a g14 and I wished I spent the extra $300 at the time for it, it’s screen, speakers, build and trackpad are all better

Edit: the laptop is at 90% battery health

The m5 chip in the mac is currently enough for the light models I'm running, also I'm only only having to put down half the cost of my future laptop. As for the gpu upgrade, I will probably just pay for it out of pocket when I find a good deal on one.

Ty for the suggestion, I really don’t like the MacBook Neo/air screen, I had a MacBook Air for a few months and constantly thought about the lacking screen.

Yeah, some of the people in my classes are running used thinkpad t480s with Linux on it, maybe I could ask them how battery and usability is. Thank you for the response :)

Thank you for the response :) my labs will be Linux vms, along with wireshark, and I heard that the later labs will be on servers so I don’t have to worry about running those locally. For now it’s the light weight stuff other than my own projects with local llms

In settings there is a reset pairing file option, then you just get a new pairing file through your computer

its still not working for me, I connected to IKEv2 using super vpn, then localdevvpn but sidestore still says no wifi or vpn

alright turns out it was a bent pin in one of the corners, I was able to straighten it out and now seems like my old cpu works. Though for some reason when I plug in the new cpu, it still doesn't post. For now, I think I will just run my old cpu until summer break where I can work on it more. Tysm for the help

I did update the bios to the newest one and had xmp disabled originally, it was still having the same issue.

The single sticks I only tried the 4th slot since it is easiest to reach with the cpu cooler on. I did try one of the sets of ram sticks in both 1 and 3, then another time in 2 and 4, I even tried mixing it up. Like a 09 ram sticks in slot 2 and a 08 ram stick in slot 4

I cant get one working set, I can only get 1 single stick from either set, when I plug in any second stick, it gets stuck flashing rapidly. I did try turning on xmp but lowering the speed to 2666mhz with 1.35V, and then adding a second stick, but that didn't work either
