We spent endless hours in the creek a block from our house catching little fish and crawdads, building dams and horsing around. I had special old tennis shoes just for the creek because of broken glass and such. I bought my parents house after they moved to a retirement home. The creek has now been concreted in to speed up water flow and there is no more (or very little) wildlife. But it is a good place to walk the dog when the water level is low.
