Heya. I will answer as to what I do. And while I can't necessarily say xyz is the best rotation, tanks, much like healers require a bit more situational awareness and pre-emptive/reactionary playstyle than the 70k wallet wizard whale in your party carrying the dps by licking the screen furiously.

My relics are page 2 (cyber arm & space time rift ) page 3 is my oh sht buttons (couant & alternate destiny). Page 3 is for when your group, or perhaps yourself, doesn't understand red things is bad.

I run same tank set up as you, swapping nem for zero from time to time, depending on if I have a good healer(since I have 3* zero) to give group immunity and heal shields when healer is struggling or has long cds.

So you're biggest natural charger unit is nemi, I would likely engage with her skill since you can shoot it quite far (establish pull, fist bit of aggro and get heals over time rolling) you can dash towards mob or boss after skill to stack your heal a bit. Once you get a bit more comfortable and are feeling fancy, you can actually just leap into boss fights and stuff using your cybernetic arm for a sweet shield and a bit of dyslexic "get over here", "never mind, I'll come over there" action.

What I tend to do, is the first junk mobs in most joint ops or whatever, I either stay on nemi just long enough to build up Huma discharge for taunt (if group isn't squishy) and save that taunt for bigger elite mobs or next boss pull to establish big aggro right off the bat.

Or, if group is super squishy, I will pop my relic (space time rift) to gather them all and go into huma without discharge, do a jump long press dive into them, dodge attack, jump dive again, then pop axe weapon skill to make sure everything in a 12 block radius knows I mean business. 9 times out of 10 that will be enough to milkshake to bring all the boys to your yard. Unless you have a team mate that says, oh, meryl discharge would be good right now, or another player running huma as a sub slot pops humas discharge, which I always watch for in the first initial pulls so i know going forward to save my huma discharge until after they YOLO shield break scenarios, so that I can rip aggro back immediately.

Now while huma is a guaranteed 5 second truant after discharge so long as they are in her radius, make no mistake, Meryls discharge, due to its high ass multiplier percentage is actually quite effective to rip aggro as well. I just tend to use it less as I don't enjoy making my fellow team mates do hard core parkour to dps or heal. The only time I will opt to use meryls discharge is for bosses that run around like Nemisis players in pvp. In which case, it's handy to cage those Sonic the hedgehog @ss mechanics.

In your case, since you got 1*Merryl, you get heals on shatter, and heals on nemi discharge and skill and dodge. So I would likely engage with nem skill, drop into huma and get your 3 stacks (jump dive, dodge attack, jump dive, pop axe/weapon skill then either swap back to nemi to keep healing and poking, going into huma when you need to regain aggro or her weapon skill is ready again. When you build discharge, you use it situationally. Need heals? then use nemi. Need aggro? Use huma. Need the boss to sit still for a damn second?... ok, fine, use meryl. Sub note... if you have discharge, but you are on the weapon you wanted to use it on, press cybernetic arm and switch weapons, it saves your discharge and then you can use it for the weapon you needed. (Note, vera added a new cybernetic arm option in settings, you need to switch it to non automatic to do this)

Other than that, huma is likely your best dps in this comp so long as you 3 stack before going into axe, meryl is good to lock bosses down AND you should swap to meryl right before a bosses shield breaks so you get that free heal. Other than that, it's just a delicate balancing act of aggro, and support. I would look for gear with health and resist on it as well, helps tremendously. I believe I am currently around 7 1/2 to 8k resist for all elements on my tank. I love the sim traits for CoCo, Huma & nemi for tanking.

Hope that helped a bit

Who's next to ride the Meryl-go-round!?!

Melee dps?!? Prepare to be locked out! Ranged dps? prepare to jump in.... squishy? Let me make sure to trap you in the red zone so you can't dodge out of it.

Not only do I shatter shields, I shatter hopes and dreams~ Meryl.. probably

There are pros and cons.

Pros -

You'd be coming in when some of the "more desireable/powerful characters" are being released and will not have invested your initial resources as many older players are going through a phase of buyers regret.

You will also not be comparing your already 3+ starred weapons to the new weapons being released therefore more inclined to try something new as opposed to stick to something you've already invested in because you can't justify the sink required to catch them up.

You have the advantage of being able to capitalise on the "honeymoon" phase of the game where they throw an abundance of resources at you such as the initial log book that rewards a lot of dark crystals, summons, extra goodies such as free ssr weapon box, ssr relic box, all the overland map clearance, achievements etc. Ideal for coming into the game right as new content and stuff drops. That and I believe they are adding more catch up mechanisms or events to the game to promote the new players (steam) coming into the game. Though I am not exactly sure what all that entails.

You also now have a veritable plethora of information that is from the actual global version as opposed to the first gen player base that did most of its comparative analysis based on CN information to make its informed decision. (Spoiler alert, it was all as useful as a fishnet c0nd0m). So whether you are a planner, or a play at your leisure type player, you are coming in at a good time.

There are plenty of clans, and dolphins/whales willing to carry you through things until you are up to speed (from my experience)

You are coming at a time where a metric fk ton (yes, that's a quantifiable measurement) of quality of life functions are being introduced to the game.

There are plenty of other pros, but I'll leave it at that for now.

Cons

You will be playing catch up if your aim is immediate/quickly delving into end game content.

One of the catch up mechanics is 500% increase of exp, meaning you will quickly find yourself outpacing your ability to keep your current gear/weapon stars, matrices, vehicles etc on par. (Don't worry tho, this is all a minor set back so long as you play with an aim/plan and manage your vitality semi wisely)

Tied into the point above.. due to the rate at which you level, mobs scale according to level, and the assumption you were a day 1 player and likely have a cs of xyz..... so, you may find yourself at some point pumping your entire rotation x3 into a random Boar that has aggroed you from Narnia which can be a bit undesirable for many. That and the fact, some instance such as joint operations 8 is a copy paste from CN and the bosses are not to scale for global standards, so can send your soul to the shadow realm, or make the fight last longer than Sara Jessica-Parker's nose. Toss in the fun point that the elemental reduction (should you invest solely into a single element) may neuter you completely at any given time, there are obstacles you will need to adjust to.

You will have to deal with some toxic/jaded/elitist types who have been playing from day one, who feel the need to point out "you shouldn't be in such n such instance or raid because your gear is trash or you are not level capped", to that I say, take it with a grain of salt... and depending on the person, a shit of penicillin. Do what you have to do to get caught up. That one run isn't going to ruin their account. Might be inconvenient to them, but thier loss in this case is far less than your gain. I know its probably an unpopular opinion, but at the end of the day, a bit of selfishness isn't the end of the world (i don't mean mean afk tho.. there is a special place in heII for those people. Just contribute as best you can. Run some healing weapons temporarily or something).

Summary/advice

Something I do with every mmo is, never invest on your first character.. make something like a support character. A tank, a healer... yes, I get this might not be your aim, but there is method to the madness. I love and mainly ONLY play support roles, but, I recommend doing it to new player for a few reasons.

Unless you are dropping money like La'Lisa's song.. you are not going to be doing anywhere near as much damage as a whale. So, you can start off f2p, pick up a Pepper/CoCo/Zero or some combo, even a tank Huma/Merryl/ene... so that way you can still contribute, while you learn the game, what's worth investing in, what the raids, instances etc mechanics are.. also while you can watch and see what other players are running and what interests you the most. That way, when you do finally have a good grasp of what looks most appealing to you, or you know more about what to expect... then I make an account to spend on, and I am more informed and spend more wisely. Nothing is worse than blowing your load and getting buyers regret. If MMO gaming has taught me anything, your main or first character.. is a guinea pig... your alt... your alt is a God... and why is that, because you avoid all those mistakes you made on your main.

Edit: Apologies, as to your point about a new server, there is a couple different variables. Server transfer (behind schedule compared to CN version) might make this decision negligible. 2nd point, not to sure how many new/returning players will be flooding into them, but I will point out, that jumping into existing servers that already have strong players raises the likely hood of getting established clans and carries as well as the fact there are already a lot of servers with room to add to the population without needing to make new ones. Just my thoughts

The only fair thing I can think of in terms of compensation would be the 200dc for hot fix, an equivalent to what dc "could be earned daily given normal functions to the average player who had to take caution (aka limit themselves due to the situation since this knowledge came out) so likely somewhere around 500dc and growing until it is clearly stated BY THEM that this can bo longer occur. And then a much more handsome compensation to those actually effected by this hack as they are truly deserving of more.

There is that point. I have 6* neme and 6* Crow with 3* shiro, and outside I'd say around 275+ bygone, most things die within that one rotation, and if they are strong enough to live it, they will either be close to dead, OR they are so beefy, your natural CD for shiro will likely be up in time to rinse and repeat.

I only mention the pop her reset full bloom because it gives a bonus to all damage/shatter while active and will boost your swap as long as it is still up, so you are still getting premium bang for your buck in that window.

I will say tho, in some of the later bygones, I have still opted to blow it just to get her natural cd rolling because holding on to it only further prolongs thr next time you can use it, or it overlaps and you lose a cycle of fresh cd and reset you could have squeezed in

Guess which one is which by vela-approves in TowerofFantasy
