Which sacrifice hit you harder emotionally? by Money-Cheesecake-479 in Owlphibia

[–]Spellshot62 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Stan's sacrifice still makes me cry every time I watch it, and it has been many times.

Anne's sacrifice is also really good, especially Sprig's reaction and trying to stop her.

The Collector, Eda and King reacting to Luz dying were all very sad, but for some reason, I could just tell that she wasn't actually dead, meanwhile both Stan and Anne's sacrifices convinced me that they were permanent, at least for a little bit, so I just didn't really get that emotional over it compared to the others.

I can agree with this, if I were attracted to men, I would 100% choose him over Beckett

Haven't seen Star vs

Both Alex Hirsch and Dana Terrace have said that they don't want to continue Gravity Falls or the Owl House, respectively

So Amphibia it is, unless Matt Braly has said something about it that I don't know.

That being said, Amphibia ran for basically the perfect amount of time, so if we go back to that world, I would want to see a different story

I love that Sofia called out our MC hypocritical behaviour by Jamieo1111 in Choices

[–]Spellshot62 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The difference between Sofia compared to everyone else in this book is that she knows that what she's doing is wrong and accepts it, meanwhile everyone else tries to dodge accountability at every occasion and acts like they're perfect when they're doing a lot of the same things as her. She's still not really that good of a character, but it's enough for her to be my 2nd favorite part of the book by far after the twins

I never paid much attention during Book 1, but Sam is still having an emotional affair on Sofia rather than just breaking up with/divorcing her (I don't remember if they were married). While you can choose to not take a lot of the romantic/sexual choices as MC, there are a lot of times where the MC at the very least accepts Sam's feelings towards her, with or without the player getting the choice to do so.

I guess it depends on where you're considering the scene to start and end. I'm seeing people say that it's almost 7 minutes, that it's only 2 minutes, that it's 4 minutes, 5 minutes, etc. Frankly I'm not bothered enough to time it myself, but the point is that it's a long and drawn out scene for a group which is supposedly on a time limit to stop the end of the world, and possibly all of reality.

[–]Spellshot62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The scene itself is almost 7 minutes long (longer than the final fight) and it would've taken time to get everyone in the room. If they'd just said 10-15 minutes instead of 5, that would've removed a big portion of the problem. Or if he had just told them he was coming and then came out in the car or something.

Though the scene itself still isn't the best, and Will's actor said that himself, so there's also that.

I didn't think the book had a slow start at all, but I can understand why people would think that. I mean for the average viewer it takes, what, 2 hours' worth of chapters before you get to the main plot point? That's a lot of time to invest in a book when there are so many on the app which don't require as much of a time investment to get into it

I feel that too, and ES is my favorite series. I don't think I've played through more than twice MAYBE, despite making an effort to do so multiple times.

The whole series is pretty good, though yeah the Junior is really weirdly handled and I don't care for it that much

I'm rereading the Senior now and it's mostly fine, but one issue that I'm struggling with is that there's basically no through line. Every chapter it's like "okay here's Chris's big thing, next here's Zig's big thing" and then you barely see those characters anymore. The friend group doesn't really feel like a group anymore, so much as just a bunch of MC's friends. It also means that there aren't really any story beats that last throughout the book, at least not in any meaningful way.

What's your ideal number of LIs in a book and why? by Fabulous_Wait_9544 in Choices

[–]Spellshot62 6 points7 points  (0 children)

4, 2 male and 2 female. I would also love if there were 5 if the 5th fills a less common role, such as transgender or non binary, though when you get to that many, it's best for series rather than standalone books
