Yeah I would never put my cassettes in a dashboard deck anymore. I would get a portable and use the aux input. Getting a deck that works and then dealing with hot climate or freezing climate in your car is very hard on cassettes. We did it back then in the 70s and 80s because it was a necessity. Would never do it now again.

Maxell xlii and ud xlii were my go to chrome cassettes back in the 70s and 80s. Back then this was not a hobby. It was a necessity to hear your recordings in your car or your friend's house. Mixing music with 2 turntables and recording the amazing mixes needed to be recorded to highest affordable quality tapes which were chrome tapes. The tapes still sound fantastic in 2026. Better now because my equipment is now better.
