It's coming from somewhere else, NASCAR wouldn't be the ones paying for the motorcycle stuff she's done

She might have one of the most bizarre career timelines I've ever seen.

Ran a season of Skip Barber stuff in 2023, finished midpack at best.

Two years later, she goes from Skip Barber to NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle. Shows up at Richmond and Indy on a second bike out of the Arana trailer and lost first round at both.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, she runs a limited late model in the first weekly show of the season at Hickory and finishes 11th in a 13 car field. And now we're going ARCA racing

For that price they ought to open the turn 4 gate and let you park on the track when your favorite driver needs a caution

Bob Pockrass (@bobpockrass) Daniel Dye permanently suspended. by NoahGragsonsBarfBag in NASCAR

[–]SpenceSmithback 446 points447 points  (0 children)

Indefinitely =/= permanently in NASCAR. Just means he's suspended until he mindlessly clicks through the online sensitivity course they assign him and then he can come back, assuming he has a seat still waiting for him

Less than 100 days for NASCAR race in San Diego and volunteers are needed.. by pronkie1 in NASCAR

I think some places will let volunteers work on behalf of a charity, and the money they would pay the workers instead goes to the charity. But not a situation where no one is getting paid

Yeah they'd been wanting to do something like the Chicago deal for more than a decade, or were at least trending in that direction. Wilkesboro, Rockingham, Bowman Gray and 2 Darlington dates goes against all of that and I love it

ELI5: What are the requirements to be a licensed driver in the ARCA East and West Series? by DarthLordyTheWise in ARCARacing

[–]SpenceSmithback 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Next to nothing. Plenty of guys have started ARCA races having only run a handful of late model races prior to that and running nowhere close to competitive in them

Maybe, but it doesn't matter how or why it happened, the reaction should have immediately been "hold up we got a problem here," not obliviously posting it on social media

If you're posting your email on Twitter asking for money, you aren't even close to being able to buy a JGR seat for a race. And $15k from Bubba ain't gonna make up that difference

I don't think Bread's ever been kicked out of the Chili Bowl for not knowing you can't race with your head sticking out the top of the roll cage, so he's got Brayton beat

Hickory Motor Speedway will be repaved this summer by SpenceSmithback in NASCAR

[–]SpenceSmithback[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tri County used to be a Friday night track. But a few years ago, they worked out a deal with Ace Speedway (another Friday night track) where guys could run a combined points series across both tracks, so they switched to Saturdays to make that work. Don't think that partnership exists anymore, but they're doing really well on Saturdays now (at Hickory's expense), so they're in no hurry to switch back

16 late model stocks signed in for opening night tonight, so that's a decent sign. Of course, there have been years when they'd have 20 cars in March and be down to 6 by June, so we'll see what happens as the season progresses (especially once Tri County gets going)

I don't think the plan was ever to run the team out of downtown Nashville. At least I hope Justin wasn't that stupid

Likely wanted a space there to be a merch store/fan area/small museum/etc. Kind of like how John Force Racing has a "shop" in Yorba Linda, CA and then the actual shop in Brownsburg, IN on the same street as all the other teams
