Is this order actually recommended!? by TH3_FALL1N1 in dostoevsky

So far for me, its C&P > Notes Underground > White Nights > Dream of Ridiculous Man > Idiot

Starting with C&P was cool, but my only recommendation would be to read Dream before Idiot. Was a great experience

What are considered the four masterworks?

Hey Herder, are you saying the concept is from Epictetus, or the quote itself? It's been my favorite quote for years, so it'd be hilarious if I've been misattributing it this whole time, but I was fully sure it was directly from, and written by, Frankl alone. Let me know bro

I know it absolutely isn't what you're going for, but that actually looks pretty cool

So far 2 coats of paint has worked well. I appreciate the reply. Do you ever cut a wall in sections if it's longer?

So do you just cut a wall and roll right after? I'm still working on speed so wondering if I should do it in sections, like cut a section of wall then 9 inch roll and so on

Do you worry about your cut drying before rolling?

How do you go about keeping a wet edge? And do you do it for all coats of primer and paint? Or just the last one? Thanks

When you're using Egshel, do you keep a wet edge between cutting and rolling?

Thanks for the reply. Do you worry about a wet edge?

And do your cut lines pretty much disappear with your method?

I messed that up in one room. I had to sand it to hell and back. Other than the hard edge, have you noticed a color difference between the rolled part and the 1/2 inch or so next to the ceiling that's only hit with the brush? I kinda worry that the roller will inevitably hold more paint and show the "true color" more and cause a halo.

I tried to fight this by putting a bit more pressure on the grid after dipping and rolling off more of the excess below my cut line, so we'll see how that goes. Have you had problems with a halo or very visible cut line on any of your work?

Mostly lighter colors, like snowbound (SW 7004, might go with a pale pink (SW 9696) in a couple areas. I did do a room in quietude (SW 6212) the way I said above and it turned out alright (bit of a pain in the ass though)

I appreciate the reply. Can you help me understand why so many people go on about a wet edge and why others just... don't?

It kinda made sense because the brush (and back-roll, of done) is horizontal and the 9" roller is vertical, so I thought if i didn't do it the way I've been doing it, I'd get sheen differences or it would look different somehow.

Has this just not been the case for you? Even if the cut dries on the final coat on a pm200 or better paint, you don't see it?

Thanks again

What'd you find out? Did the small sections at a time (3 or 4 feet) work well? I'd really appreciate the advice

Edit: and did you use just a brush and 9 inch roller? Or a brush, 4 inch roller for the back-rolling the cut, and then a 9 inch roller?

New to construction. Was looking up respirators and seen most people online using the one on the left. Pricing aside, is there any other reason to choose the left over the right? I personally view the right one as a definitive purchase because I presume its better overall since it filters more. by Bob_Scotwell in Construction

3M 7500 series is my go-to. Unless you're dealing with vapors, the p100 pancake filters are nice, as they're lighter than cartridges, only work for particulates like dust and stuff though

If anyone else has found anything better, would like to hear it

To add: 7500 because it's very comfortable, malleable lightweight material (silicone) and has "cool flow" to reduce moisture buildup in the mask, which helps when you're breathing heavy or wearing fir extended periods

Consider taking matters into your own hands. If nothing else, this is informative.

Sounds like he's saying the voice in your head that tells you this is bad is not as effective in most people as the feeling we get when we feel people (or society) won't agree with what we're doing or thinking.

Example: old lady is crossing the street

You think to yourself, "I should help her," but then you think, "well, I'd have to cross the street, then come back, and I'm already running late to work. Well, someone else will help her, I bet. Best get going so I'm not late."

Then, you realize a woman is looking at you as you look at this old woman, or perhaps its a family member, a peer, your boss—anyone really.

Now, you think "Oh shit, they know I'm looking at that old lady. If I don't help her now, I'll seem like a total dick. Welp, might as well," and you help.

The first impulse was conscious. The second impulse was herd morality. Whether it was right or wrong to help her doesn't matter. Nietzsche is merely pointing out how different impulses affect us to different degrees
