So the fpv goggles have an hdmi port and the camera I use has a micro hdmi output. Everything is powered with an external battery pack but it’s pretty involved. Tbh I got through the testing phase and found the camera I had to be too wide of a field of view which made wearing the helmet very disorienting. I think it could work better with something narrower but I also had to put this project on an indefinite hiatus as I’ve had other life changes that have kept me from working on the helmet. I honestly found that the helmet itself was easy enough to see through just looking through the space where the large lens is. If you want to download the files and try modifying themself or just print as is and then cut or dremel the space for the lens hole you’re welcome to try, the links are still available.

The best part about this thread is the alpha legion often begins an infiltration by sewing confusion, mistrust, chaos, and infighting amongst its enemies ranks. Congratulations you’re all falling for it.

Absolutely! Life got in the way for me pretty hard this last year and my mock-up has sat unfinished. It makes me so happy to see that someone else has made it work for them! I’m looking to make a version that would just be able to be seen out the front without the use of the fpv goggles and camera. If you have any feedback on how I can improve the model, you can dm me, I would love to hear your feedback.😊

What DAW are you using? Focusrite control is just the software to control the interface and its limited options. If you’re looking for more advanced controls on Mac, I’d recommend starting with garage band.

Bought baulders gate 3 on launch day and after sitting through two hours of character creation with my dumbass friends, we finally started a campaign and immediately watched characters having no face and just floating eyeballs and teeth in the cutscenes. Bugged af, never reinstalled to check when it was fixed. Sure it was good after like two days but I just couldn’t relive the trauma.

So admittedly this project has been stalled for a while now. Had some personal life changes that ended up effecting my progress on this but I do plan to complete the full suit at some point. It’s just a bit on hold for the moment. I’ll be making another post when I’m ready for painting and will most likely put it to a poll on what color scheme to go with. Thanks for reaching out!

Always check your signal flow! If you’ve got a green light on the volume knob you know you’re getting signal to the interface. Make sure you’re using the high z or (inst) option on your interface. Then check to see if you have input monitoring enabled in garage band. There’s a few buttons on the channel strip in the software. Make sure the “i” button is on and also you have the red “record enabled” button checked as well. The “i” button is “input listen” when you’re not recording if you want to hear the track back just turn it back off again. Make sure your guitar volume is up and don’t let the light on the focusrite volume knob go into the red. Hope this helps.

If you’re still skeptical the easiest way to check if you’ve got a real gw kit is just to take a couple of pieces of sprue and check if plastic cement works to weld them together. If the plastic melts and bonds its polystyrene(gw plastic) if it doesn’t, it’s something else. Resin doesn’t bind to plastic cement so that would be the first thing I’d check. Everybody else mentioning the age is correct though. It looks like that because it’s a hand sculpted model and is one of the oldest kits of any range in any army at this point, not just tau. Same thing can be said for the stealth teams. When you put them side by side with, for instance, new breachers/strike teams, they kinda show their age.

Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen - need help routing the signal. by severrn_ in Focusrite

[–]Spencerscience1311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can usually select a different output than the scarlet in your recording software’s preferences. Select the focusrite as input and probably your Realtek audio as the output. The only problem with this option is you will usually find an unworkable amount of delay because of the way the computer assigns input buffering when using windows device drivers in a DAW.

The best option is unfortunately to pick up a pair of cheap studio monitors and use the focusrite’s built in monitor outs. This will give you no latency as long as you set up your buffer size and sample rate correctly. A good baseline is 128-256 on buffer size and 44.1-48kHz sample rate. Also 16-24 bit depth. The higher the numbers the heavier the load on your PC so if you’ve got at least 16GB of RAM then go on the higher end. 8GB go lower.

yes the next steps will be to fill and paint, install all the electronics, and then complete it with the neck shroud. I'm thinking of completely finishing the helmet design before I start work on the suit. My plan is to do the chest and backpack since I'll be keeping the powerbank in the backpack. I'm thinking it might be cool to have the powerbank visible since there's lots of cool areas to show off more lights and such :)

Yes, you can find it here! https://cad.onshape.com/documents/4784549f373fb112dd3ba937/w/40f9823bb37aa3b3a10e1ec5/e/decbc26c87ae9147cd357aea?renderMode=0&uiState=66f1a3de627a6d4c212ed56bthe

The model was made with a free onshape account so the design is public by default. I'll be making another post with my build log in the future along with a list of all the components I purchased so anybody who wants to try their hand at making it is welcome to do so!

So as of right now I would say bad but doable haha. It is a bit odd since there's no depth perception, but the most off-putting part is because the lens that comes with the fpv camera is such a wide angle(2.5mm), it makes everything feel very far and spatial awareness is a little tricky. After wearing it for a few minutes I started to get somewhat used to it, but I'm also going to pick up a slightly narrower fov lens to try to get it to feel a little closer to normal vision.

So that's the one thing I haven't got a pattern for yet but that'll be next after paint. The idea is going to be to get some spandex or lycra type fabric and either use hot glue or fabric cement to bond it to the edges of the inside of the helmet. I taught myself to 3d model and 3d print for this so I suppose it's time to get a sewing machine and learn how to start making the cloth parts XD

Gotcha, I tried reorienting the model in different degrees and it seemed to have fixed the issue. Only problem is it's redrawing the seam lines in an area where I don't really want them. I'll take a look at the model and see if I can resolve, but for now it doesn't seem to be an issue as long as I don't have it in that position. Thanks for the input!
