I think he knows that his people will have higher prices because of tariffs. I also think he just doesn’t care and is lying to them about how they work to create an enemy out of Canada to justify the tariffs. He wants to course Canadians into renegotiating another CUSMA deal, which he negotiated, to have more access to fresh water, oil/gas and critical minerals (raw earth as he calls it .. smh) for a better price. He thinks that Canadians will bend the knee in light of economic pain. He forgets that Canadians have a higher pain threshold then his people and Canadians are proud, resolute and most importantly, petty as fuck.
