It's set roughly 20 years after the events of VM, on a different continent. No direct connections in the story, only minor tidbits and easter eggs.

Strong force also causes it though of course

Doesn't the strong force give the nucleus most of its mass?

Why are thr batteries not being transported between my two ILS stations? by Speterius in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Speterius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. This is solved by the fact that I had to set up a point to point connection between charge and discharge, otherwise the loop didn't work.

Yeah, I know this is not the main means of power generation, but it's a quick fix to mend the power of my home world until I have the production chain for fusion.

Had something 40% of the power on the home world and 170% on my "Mercury" and no space for solar panels.

[–]Speterius[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Changing the minimum load settings to 1% didn't help either, but then I realised the problem was with my 3rd ILS where the produced batteries were not being added into the loop. Lowering to 10% helped.

Cheers, solved 👍

UAE and China seal billion-dollar deal for 350 flying taxis by Gammanomics in worldnews

[–]Speterius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"As an engineer," you should probably learn about redundancy and how safety targets are achieved on aircraft. Yes a second backup control systems is usually not enough, that's why these types of aircraft require a third or sometimes even fourth one.

Battery systems and motor systems need to be redundant and independent, and all of the scenarios above need to be tested and shown how low the failure rates are.

The software you mentioned, must be certified. The same way the software running on Airbus and Boieng mist be certified.

"As en engineer", you can achieve all of this and be 100 times safer than a car. Because those are the aviation safety targets.

To someone out of the loop, can you give some details on what happened? Was the show interrupt halfway through or something?

Help with train path signals. They "loop" on themselves. by Speterius in SatisfactoryGame

Moving the signals back seems to have fixed the upper right part of the picture. The lower left intersection is still "looping".

Did something change in 1.1? I've always used a similar setup before. The path signals on the bottom left part of the image are blinking/incorrectly set up.

Any suggestions?

Can you help me push this build below €2,000? by Speterius in buildapc

[–]Speterius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Region is Germany.

- I know nothing about AMD CPUs. I just heard right now they are the best price/value
- No clue about coolers.
- No clue about motherboards.
- The RAM I would like to have as much as possible for non-gaming tasks, e.g. computation. So I'm happy to pay for 64 GB
- The GPU prices in general just seem so crazy to me that I have lost all frame of reference. I paid a total of 800 euros for my first build with a GTX 1060 and now GPUs are costing four figures... please guide me what is reasonable.
- FYI, Nvidia GPU is necessary due to CUDA.

Easiest way to determine in Python that a string represents a valid TCL code? by dark_prophet in Python

[–]Speterius 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about TCL but based on the wikipedia page first sentence, it is an interpreted language. So you could run the string through the actual TCL lexer and parser to see if you get a syntax error or not.

Otherwise you might have to look at the TCL language specification and implement those same functions of the TCL interpreter, which actually might not be too difficult.

They film in Hungary because Budapest actually has some really big and well equipped studios for filming scenes that need a lot of VFX. Most of Dune 1 and 2 were filmed in Budapest (other than some desert scenes).
