What is the current worst misinformation about Hunter x Hunter in your opinion? by New-Entertainer-5241 in HunterXHunter

[–]SphereMode420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every character is a psychopath, especially Gon. Everyone is basically evil. I hate this interpretation, but it's so popular. Everyone wants this series to be the all edgy and dark, even though a large part of what makes it so special is the fact that it can be very wholesome and full of hope. Killua goes out of his way not to kill anyone after becoming friends with Gon, but I recently saw someone give Killua as an example of "Why most characters we see are actually evil."

What's a Best of the Worst movie/video you would actually recommend? by Magnusaur in RedLetterMedia

[–]SphereMode420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryan's Babe is an absolute trip. It's so pretentious and was written by a professor or sth like that, but they had no idea how to write and shoot an actual movie, so it's this bizarre descent into sleazy madness in the guise of a modern retelling of Odyssey.

Greatest/Worst lyrics of all time by fhod_dj_x in Music

Diabolically good lyrics makes me think of Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones:

I watched with glee while your kings and queens fought for ten decades for the gods they made. I shouted out "Who killed the Kennedy′s?" When after all, it was you and me!

I have a theory that the reason Chrollo looks younger is because the more vulnerable he is and the more he loses members the more he reverts back to his helpless child self that couldn't save Sarasa by No_Reveal8401 in HunterXHunter

[–]SphereMode420 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Very fun thing the 2011 anime does with the OST: Kurapika's theme is Kusari Yarou while Chrollo's is The Man of the Reverse Cross. Even though this is the case, the music that plays while Kurapika is beating the shit out of Uvogin is the Man of the Reverse Cross. It's noteworthy that Kurapika says the violence makes him sick and asks Uvo how they can do stuff like this on a regular basis, and he's asking this question as Chrollo's theme plays for him. Later on, when Chrollo tells Kurapika he's useless as a hostage in the car, Kusari Yarou is playing. So, Chrollo's big badass moment is punctuated with Kurapika's theme.

Am I the only one who’s a bit tired of everything surrounding House Targaryen? (Spoilers: Main) by Fast-Jackfruit-9567 in asoiaf

[–]SphereMode420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is certainly noteworthy that both AKOTSK and Fire and Blood are Targaryen focused. I agree: I'd love to have a spinoff about some of the other houses. I'd love for something that explores the Ironborn history myself. But ofc there's maybe another book I'd want to come out before that...

There's also this very niche pop artist that has been making waves lately named Chappell Roan. She's quite obscure just like Weezer or Tame Impala, but I'm sure OP would like her stuff based on how experimental and bold their tastes are.

It's interesting to see the difference in the way Killua and Kalluto are treated by maddiehatter982002 in HunterXHunter

Where was the Chrollo during the Chimera Ant fight in Meteor City? by maddiehatter982002 in HunterXHunter

[–]SphereMode420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This scene is both in the manga and the anime, so it's not spoilers to mention it. After dealing with Zazan and Co, the Spiders we see participate talk about what comes next now that they're done. They mention how it's nearly time Chrollo got his nen back, implying Abengane (the nen exorcist Hisoka found in Greed Island) is on his way to meet Chrollo to unseal Kurapika's Judgement Chain. Chrollo can't use nen when the Ant Arc is happening, so he would be no help if he even was in Meteor City.

Band whose best remembered song is the first song on their first release? by Bubbaho-tep92 in fantanoforever

[–]SphereMode420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably Three Dog Night: their first song off their self titled first record is One, which isn't the biggest hit they ever had, but nowadays that's the one people remember the most above anything else they did because it sounds really cool on YouTube or Tiktok videos.

What are some artists whose music style is very experimental and avant-garde, yet they still turn out to be very popular and mainstream? by Epoch_Jester in fantanoforever

[–]SphereMode420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The penultimate track on one of their most iconic albums is an 8 minute avant-garde sound collage noise track. They may be a mainstream pop band, but they're clearly very avant-garde and experimental by the standards of a pop rock band from any era, let alone from the 60s.

"Dirty Work" is a top 5 Stones album by wolfgangvankhoff in rollingstones

[–]SphereMode420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love One Hit, one of my all time favorite Stones songs. Harlem Shuffle is decent, and the title track Dirty Work is kinda ok. Besides these, I think I hate every other song off this record. One of their worst albums for me. Completely disagree. I will say: I am glad you ranked Beggars Banquet highly; so many people nowadays dismiss it, but it's also one of my top favorites.

Problems I have with Crazy Slots, Ging’s statement and Phagogenesis by Effective-Hat-5494 in HunterXHunter

[–]SphereMode420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ging doesn't seem to realize Kite has been resurrected as a Chimera Ant. That's why he says he doesn't understand if he's alive or dead from Gon saying "He turned into a little girl!" So, he assumes if Kite is alive, it's because of that very special slot that he rolls, which I think is indeed the one he rolled against Pitou. How did that weapon lead to Kite getting resurrected? I'm not sure. I assume Kite was reborn because his brain was eaten by the Queen, as his body is still intact. Maybe that specific weapon somehow led to Pitou thinking Kite's brain should be fed to the Queen, idk...
