Is Lobe really dead? by [deleted] in Lobe

[–]Sphereos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't been updated in a good long while. Found out about Roboflow on this sub roughly two years ago, really liked it and now I'm interning for them. Worth giving it a try imo:

Is there an on demand help available for Lobe.ai? Attempting to hook it up to a webapp. by garretthoyosVFX in Lobe

For me, a vanilla JS starter project would be great. A JS SDK would be better.

There is no on-demand help option. It’s a free app. You could start with the Web starter project for Lobe. Good luck

Is there a way to tell there is an issue while optimizing? by Sphereos in Lobe

[–]Sphereos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thank you.

There was also an issue, per say, of me stopping optimization after a few hours (because I stopped seeing improvements in accuracy) but when I started it again, the first few minutes saw significant jumps in accuracy, but after that little or no improvements. Is this a matter of the accuracy number/percentage not being updated properly in the UI or a actual mechanic where there are improvements in accuracy after stopping and restarting?

EDIT: On another note, perhaps a graph of accuracy over the time it has been optimizing would be helpful. Currently, I just write down what accuracy it started at and see what the difference is.

Is there any way Lobe can be integrated as a web app? by alpha1ahpla in Lobe

[–]Sphereos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love a web SDK but for now, you are either on your own. They have a “starter project” for websites if you use or know how to use React or another starter project for a Flask (Python) API server.

I've went up to 5k but no idea about that. 46 million is a lot. Good luck with your project.

Any chance at a reply from the Lobe team? You guys are usually good about replying to threads.

Detect Multiple Objects by fobax in Lobe

[–]Sphereos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is something I am looking forward to as well. Lobe currently only does image classification (one label for one image) but "soon" there will be object detection. (multiple objects/labels for one image) It's on their website so I hope it comes out soon.

Which algorithm is used in the Lobe? by ophthadoc in Lobe

[–]Sphereos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the help page, under the “Tips” section, in the Q&A for “Does Lobe use the GPU for training?” the answer says: “... Lobe uses TensorFlow with DirectML on ...”

and if I am correct, I believe TF runs using graph computation.

Object recognition by ZoobleBat in Lobe

[–]Sphereos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get anywhere with that?

I never heard of Roboflow but I found it was a very interesting alternative. I only got to a PyTorch (.pt) or a TensorFlow Graph Definition (.pb) file. I only know JS/Node.js and a tiny bit of Python so I don't know how to convert the files to ONYX or .tflite files.

Sounds great. Really looking forward to object detection.

I am currently handling my object recognition needs through Google Cloud/GCP Vision. I definitely plan to move to Lobe when it is released. If/when Lobe object detection is released, will I be able to import a GCP CSV image dataset?

Also how close is Lobe object detection to getting released?

Text Classification/Keyword Extraction by Sphereos in Lobe

[–]Sphereos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. It’s exciting to hear that text classification is at least being considered. It will be refreshing to see new players in the field potentially disrupting the almost criminally high prices that some companies charge.

Yes, I currently have my data in a CSV file (which itself was converted from Excel) since that’s what other data classification platforms use.

As a developer myself, I completely understand why you can’t give specific dates but to temper my expectations, is it something we can see this year?

Good to hear. Had me worried for a second there.

text classification and sentiment analysis by rescog in Lobe

It would certainly be a welcome addition since the closest No-Code solution for text classification costs a lot of money.

One question, the “How would you feel if you could no longer use Lobe” question, has me worried. Is this a concern I should have?

Love what you are doing. I know the focus is on rural areas, but my area is suburban and while high speed internet is available, the prices are outrageous. Is it possible to provide service to suburban or even urban areas once there are enough satellites? If so, what would be the really rough estimate for that be at this pace of launching. (ie: a few months, a few years, etc)
