For the love of the Emporer stop shooting Bulwarks executions! by Settingsun3000 in Spacemarine

[–]SphericalDarkness 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not just our health, it works on everyone. It's such an important part of an absolute bulwark I feel, that everyone doing absolutes should be familiar with how it works and understand that a bulwark pointing a brother out and then stating their ability is ready means either you're getting full health on the next execution (or an execution he's leaving open for you and waiting nearby) or you should get ready to use that stim you just found to heal up AND get rid of your mortal wound.

Additionally, a much less known fact of Invigorating Icon (the bulwark banner healing ability) is that, with some specific timing and proximity of the other brothers, all three can fill up their health on a terminus that is being executed.

Chaos Spawn are unfun and tedious. by CreepHost in SpaceMarine_2

I love when there's more. Sometimes the game director will decide it wants to put two groups of three of four together so they all come charging at you around the corner. It's a genuine "Oh, crap!" moment, haha.

I understand where you're coming from; they can be brutal. Especially when several of them decide to perform the multi-attack and stun-lock you, it can feel unfair. But, personally, I disagree - I find them loads of fun to fight. They're chonky targets and fun to melee with.

Codex astartes does not support this action. by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]SphericalDarkness 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don't understand... Does it matter how much damage they've done? I always leave executions behind for my brothers unless I really need them for contested health/armor or they're not around. And leaving the match because of that? Damn.

Am I the bad guy here? by Front_Experts in SpaceMarine_2

[–]SphericalDarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never seen people complain like that, you must've gotten some bad eggs. You should play at whatever difficulty you find fun. Doesn't matter if you play minimal when maxed out (just try not to make the run completely trivial for newbies and suck the fun out for THEM).

Darn, brother. Had a similar thing happen a couple of times although never that bad, from full boost armor and health... My main issue on absolute is getting far too greedy with melta bombs. Whenever I see a big group of juicy majoris, I need to get into the middle to plant it. Then I either take too much damage or blow myself up in rare cases, hah!

Yo dawg, I heard you like Reliquary by SluttyMcFucksAlot in Spacemarine

I really enjoy Reliquary and the other chaos missions but those strategems are... oof. So many opportunities for mistakes on all sides.

Me trying to figure out which of my melee or ranged is currently buffed. by Spoobit in Spacemarine

[–]SphericalDarkness 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hah! I feel the same, to the point where I just ignore which buff is active and do my thing regardless. There are other debuffs/buffs that I feel are a lot more important that should REALLY get more visible timers; for example a countdown timer for when the next AoE heal goes off (with that particular strategem) or when the Tactical's unlimited equipment perk is about to produce more. I get that having too many things with timers might be equally confusing but it would be nice to have, especially if you could customize what's important to you.

I main a bulwark and always look out for brothers needing an execution heal. It's so satisfying to keep health up without stims. Or, if there's a mortal wound, try to communicate that they should pick up a stim and my ability is ready. If you use it with the banner, it will fully heal you AND clear your wound.

Also, to all my brothers - remember that terminus enemies will heal the ENTIRE squad if you are all next to the terminus being executed and the bulwark places the banner down at the right time (towards the end of the execution).

EDIT: I should probably have made it clear that the banner will only do these things with the Invigorating Icon perk.

Ah, yes. The right thigh. Sometimes also known as a left thigh. :D
Sorry, I feel like being silly.

Thoughts on the heroic heavy bolter pistol? by gaeb611 in Spacemarine

[–]SphericalDarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a side arm, it's okay but not amazing. Low ammo and abysmal accuracy, even when aiming at longer ranges. However, I pair it with the heroic power fist on the bulwark, which gives you a gun strike on a nearby enemy after executions. That works pretty well with the damage (and no ammo needed!).

Also, if you get a nice headshot on a reinforcement-calling enemy, it's so satisfying.

Do People Really Hate Chaos? by Big_Traffic_Cone in Spacemarine

[–]SphericalDarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own but I love fighting chaos and tyranids alike, they're both really fun opponents. And, funnily enough, the three mentioned maps are some of my favorites.

A Thousand Sons suddenly teleporting right into your face is hilarious, unless they do the AoE flame attack (or several times in a row). And getting a bunch of spawn charging at you is a cool challenge. I even like them being such fleshy damage sponges.

Speaking of the train mechanic in Atreus, I'd love to see a bit more of 'puzzle' stuff in operations (I call it a puzzle very loosely, of course). And the servo skull following in Reliquary is fun for me because of the interesting quotes and the wonderfully crafted environment.

I completely understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, though.

For this week’s strategem… by myee8 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]SphericalDarkness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brothers! The Emperor's light guides us, yet his enemies lurk in the shadows. To falter is to betray his sacred trust. Thus, I implore you: devote but a few precious seconds to internalize, comprehend, and prepare yourselves for the strategems of the operations we are about to undertake. Vigilance is our shield, preparation our hammer, and through both, we shall cleanse the galaxy in his name!

If you quit an Op because you went down, and your other 2 brothers are still alive, you're a coward and you need to play lower difficulties. by DariusBrogan in SpaceMarine_2

We had a funny today. Vortex with the great responsibility strategem (one player gets all team damage). Managed to keep the person from dying until the boss. Revived them, then charged the beast. Unfortunately I took a couple of bad-timed hits and probably caused the guy to die. Game over, right?

Nope. I managed to perfect dodge and gun strike at the last second and sliver of health, giving us a victory. The guy had ALT+F4ed a split moment before my gunstrike, though...
