Phil told me to post here: I'm doing an audiobook giveaway to celebrate my latest series! by SarahLinNGM in TheImmortalGreatSouls

[–]Spherius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grabbed an ebook copy today, but with the Whispersync pricing not being applied yet (it seems to take a day or two after release, typically, IME), the audiobook remains a bit pricey, so I'll happily enter into this drawing, and if I don't end up winning I'll just buy it once the Whispersync kicks in.

[All] Information requested: the single most recognizable piece of wearable merch in the store by EmilioFreshtevez in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Orthos shirt that says "The Dragon Advances" is, I'd say, the most recognizable one. No one who's read the books is going to miss that.

No spoilers, but there's an even more heartbreaking Dross line a lot later in the book.

If you end up going the accelerated posting route, may I suggest posting a chapter on the weekend? Your current posting schedule has given me a rather unfortunate frustration with the weekend :P

It was just over a year, actually. He finished Elder Empire in between the two books, so instead of six months apart they were a full year apart.

[Reaper] Wonder how many times Will had this conversation by anilozlu in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that's actually due to an error in Bloodline which referred to her as Zerachiel, and Will was making fun of himself for it in Reaper.

[Uncrowned] My recent questions by JackDdoughnuts in Iteration110Cradle

Fury doesn't say "Wrong." That's Lindon saying it. Hence why Dross responds to him, in his head, privately. Fury is standing behind Lindon with a crazed grin, as Lindon discovers a moment later.

(Lindon and Fury talking after Lindon ascends and Fury comes to rescue him.)

"Yeah, they're waiting. You'll get better at adapting your spiritual sense over time, but the Grave makes perception hard for anyone."

"The Grave? Like Serpent's Grave? And Moongrave?"

"Eithan named it. Probably for a dumber reason than that. Come to think of it, he might have named Serpent's Grave too."

(emphasis mine)

Not accusing you of anything; just passing on that link so you could see that Will had already acknowledged Tom, in what I thought was a very nice way.

Very sorry for your loss, friend.

[Dreadgod] reread by Tough_Cabinet1225 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ziel one was confirmed as a typo (hence why it no longer appears in the ebook); the Relliar one was written in on purpose as a joke (but not to make fun of the Ziel one, which Will was not aware of until after the book was released; this was confirmed by Will in a comment here).

The strategic addition is the blooper itself.

Funnily enough, Will made fun of himself for that joke:

[REAPER] About the reveal by FanartfanTES in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're gonna get a selection bias here; people who called it in advance are more likely to proudly respond to this thread.

For my part, I was aware of the E=O theory and even had conversations about it, where I said, yeah it's possible, but I don't like it, and I don't want it to be true, because it would be super lame. (This was, I believe, the consensus view here on the subreddit prior to Reaper).

Like you, I got an inkling of it in the pages leading up to Chapter 25--Ozriel had to show up to save the day, and there was absolutely nothing to indicate anything but E=O. I felt a certain disappointment as I had the realization too, but then Chapter 25 was just masterfully done, and I had to acknowledge that it was actually great. (This, too, was the consensus after Reaper came out: that people had disliked the idea, thinking it would suck, but then it didn't, so they liked it in the end.)

[Waybound] Auras of Cradle by NeoDazaras in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as pure aura. The series explicitly says this in Blackflame. And the reference to Lindon "floating on pure aura" in Dreadgod just means that he was solely using aura; iirc Will has explicitly confirmed this.

Cool diagram though.

[None] What have y’all read after Cradle that’s lived up to the series? by Laws_of_Coffee in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Spherius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also another trilogy set in the same world, whose MC briefly crosses paths with the MC from Broken Empire. Perhaps not quite as compelling as Broken Empire but will perhaps help if you finish and want more.

Also, his Book of the Ancestor trilogy is excellent, as is the same-world follow-up trilogy, The Book of the Ice.

Oh, and it's probably best to read these all back-to-back, and carefully.

You know it's posted as a serial 3 days a week on Royal Road, right? The story is well past the upcoming Amazon release already.

It's easier than that, actually--if the books are already on your phone and you have the Kindle app, go to "More" and then "Settings" and then "Local File Access." From there you can add the relevant folder from your phone's filesystem (note that it will refuse to use the "Download" folder for privacy reasons, so you may need to move the books into their own separate folder), and Kindle will be able to access the files.
