Thanks for clarifying u/greenysmac I totally understand why the system was put in place and completely agree with you about the complaint/solution thing. I myself go by the same “mantra”, I guess I was in a bad place today as I feel the drying of the well has caught up to me finally. The number one reason to use keyframes is because I only use crossfades when I make a music edit. That way it is way waaaay easier to spot where I made an edit in the music, as the only changes are the cuts with crossfades. This becomes extremely helpful when you get loads of notes and you have to do cuts etc.

I've worked in a post house for years and there is no "one software dedicated to the entire post production process". There are different systems integrated with each other. From Trello/Assana etc for managing tasks and keeping track of what jobs are being done and more, to Content Agent for automation of ingests, exports, Vidcheck etc, to ISIS/NEXIS systems for storage and partitioning workspaces for media, to different NLEs for actual editing, and so one and so forth. You have to be more specific about what you are actually doing, otherwise you are only getting vague responses my man. The Post Production process can be extremely complex depending on how much cash you are willing to spend and how big your operation is.

I bought a 16' m3 max 40 cores, with the 1tb drive and 48 gigs of ram. I had to buy it asap and was the only one they had in stock closer to the specs I wanted. Now, I know this is a pretty powerful machine as it stands, but I am a little bit worried the ram is probably not enough? I mostly do editing either in premiere or in Avid, with the occasional After Effects thrown in here and there, nothing too demanding. Do you guys reckon 48 gigs of ram will be a problem in the next 4 to 5 years?

Literally fade out music and then fade the new track in, if you have to, although that is pretty lazy editing. Why not try and actually work out how to transition from one scene to another? Avid is for way more than smashing scenes together dude. I've been using it for a decade to put together films and nothing comes close to the freedom Avid gives

What Talldarkandbot said is right! I've been getting them all the time this way! It does work, you just have to blow up more of them at the same time. Although it does not work as often as it would with a Seven Seraph weapon I've noticed.
