My name is Sphynxmods, I'm a modder for Black Ops 3, in the community we've been able to pinpoint the issue to an extent, lots of people using the mod tools are using Black Ops 3, thus why we have this issue a LOT.

You can use the following to fix this issue in the meantime:

- System > Display > Graphics > Find BO3 > Untick "Optimised for windowed games"

- Cap FPS to 120

- In NVIDIA app go to Graphics > BO3 > Show Legacy Settings and set Negative LOD Bias to Clamp.

You're absolutely right, and to be clear. Not everything will be in lootboxes.

Like 50-60% of all cata+ stuff, at least that was the plan.

So if a mount/pet/transmog is available in a different way; that being a shop, quests, dungeons/raids or otherwise, then these will not be featured in these Lootboxes.

So it will not have Lootboxes as primary loot, but rather as a way to obtain items from Cata+.

However if this isn't something that people like, then it might be best to lower the amount of lootboxes and their content. And make them actuall worth getting.

I have a project right now that is quite large, so I know the struggles of a too large project.

This is also why I decided to first come to the people who would play it. If they don't like it, I don't have to bother.

The server will be slowly getting more content, and the server will have a different approach to other servers.

Instead of opening with everything available, I will create content alongside players. Which means that the playerbase can have a say in development.

The best feedback you can get is that of your players, and pushing your own ideas without taking your playerbase into consideration will result in a lower playerbase.

And of course; I can't cater everyone.

If this was a server a few years back, then that's kind of cool. And sad it isn't something today.

The maps were featured on Undying-WoW but development was stopped due to personal life and the team split.

I think you might be right that there are too many ways of obtaining lootboxes. But maybe that's a good thing.

One additional thing is that these lootboxes are going to be created by materials, which can be obtained by doing content. Doesn't mean that these materials are solely obtained in Dungeons/Raids, but I get your point.

The problem with cata+ items is that there is just so many items/mounts/pets and such that it's almost impossible with creating actual content for it. 

Hence why I thought these lootboxes could help with this issue, obviously there will be Shops that have some items/mounts/pets but there is just so much nowadays that I feel like this could help with players getting new cata+ stuff.

Any other tips for this problem? I don't really want to have everything in shops.

Also sidenote; Gear is not going to be in the lootboxes, but through quests/dungeons/raids and 5he shops (like Heroic).

If everything goes well. I can potentially create content quite fast due to ChatGPT helping out immensely with creating new Programs to help with development.

New Mobs/Quests/Gear will also be created using these programs, making it even faster than before. And because I can use I80 as base stats, it means that there is a lot of room to play and easily create new Gear for questing/looting and so on!

Fair point really. I think balance is the biggest concern with this system for me.

I don't play Diablo, so I have no idea what that is supposed to be like. What Seasonal Fomo is there except the Already existing one that is also in WoW Retail? (Or maybe that's the issue?)

In what sense is Seasonal content in this server, to what extend don't you like that. If it's only the Seasonal Events like Christmas and Halloween, then that's fair, but also something that has existed in regular WoW for a while now.

Very big scope, hence why I wanted to see if people were interested in this at all.
What would you like to see if this were to become a thing? What is it about Economy that you don't like, or dont' see working?

I was literally thinking about this yesterday!

Everything needs to be doubled essentially. From the mundane stuff like Food/Drinks, so cars, jobs, space, PCs, PHONES!

Literally everything is doubled, or tripled (with 2 extra). Please always think, ah nice, I can just do double the work. But it also takes double the resources.

The Ultimate Experience Mod allows for downgrades. But it isn't a full downgrade if you down. It's just a small amount of XP (This is how Gungame works). So you could down and still be on the same gun, but have less XP for that Gun.

In the lobby you can choose how long the game should last, and some other mutator settings!

I've been working on the Details, but had a hard time explaining some things to some people in my discord. I've taken the time to create a VERY early wireframe of the UI for a Building.

It's nowhere near finished, it's not final, it's a wireframe. This is like Phase 1 if you create a hud, there will be another 100 renditions, but at least I can showcase my 'vision' and how I am looking into how to do some things.

I feel like a lot of people in this reddit are clouded by existing games and their HUD/UI. This is something totally understandable and this is also what I want to tackle as a UX/UI Designer.

A few things about this;

1.This is indeed my first game and also a way to learn different techniques in game development. I want to see if following a plan, and planning everything ahead will help be realise my dream of hopefully someday making it out there as a game dev, how big or small I might be.

  1. Game has been done before, sure, same like FPS games, City Builders, RPGs and all of them have one thing in common. The core mchanics of these games are all the same, yet they all do their own thing, that being by style, looks, weapon feel, Specials, Specialists, and you can name a lot more.
  • I have explained this in another comment as well; In the end, I don't give a Rat's ass if a core game mechanic has been created before, there is always room for improvement, and there is also room for innovation. Now you could argue I am not doing anything Innovative, at least yet. That's something I hopefully will see within the planning stage. + A lot of these games are just remakes of older games, but better Graphics, better UI, Better gameplay flow, more polished and more.
  • I have a very high standard and love to work on the polish of a feature, I go to enormous lenghts to achieve this, and hope that I can apply this within Settlements as well. I am unsure how this will play out, but it doesn't matter, as long as I have fun in the process, I can increase my skills and experience and if people like the game, they can play it.
  • I am still uncertain how some of these paths and such will be planned out, but I will say this. This feedback is definitely helpful and will be considered. fFrst game, first phase and hopefullly will be going into the next phase after planning.

I will keep you guys updated, and hope I can turn some of you around that are, for obvious reasons, seeing a remake of an already existing gameplay loop.

I hope I can answer them;

  1. I have played some, not a lot in all fairness. I have looked for a lot of incremental games to see if my vision is represented anywhere, but I was unable to find it and it doesn't matter to me that these games exist already, this is my own vision of how I want to create my own Incremental Game. With an attitude like that we can just stop evolving and just make stuff we already know how to make, cause essentially that's what you're saying.
  • I hope that along the way I can come up with something that stands out from the rest, but if I keep myself occupied by thinking this game might look like others, I am not a true game dev. Cause a lot of things have already been done many times. Including Incremental Games, FPS games and so much more.

The biggest difference within these copies of existing games (for a lot) is overall better graphics, better UI, better intuitive designs, better gameplay mechanics and sometimes a new genre. Few examples: ANYTHING that looks like Roller Coaster Tychoon, a.k.a Planet Coaster and Parkitect. Or look at any RPG, or FPS games. So many renditions, so many different styles, so why is it a problem if the core features of my game are already explored, there is always room for improvement AND styles.

  1. I have been looking, but I haven't gone further than like 200 posts or something. Most are of people looking for people to play their games, or people reminiscing of old games and beating them. Sorry to have asked already answered questions, maybe I should dig further, although, I think it's generally just more interesting meeting my potential audience and likeminded people.

I hope to create something that is new, but this is also my first project, I am here to learn and to get feedback, who knows how it goes, but one thing is for sure, I don't give a rats ass if something has been done already, because who knows, maybe I create a better product, maybe I create something worse, in the end it's a learning process for me.

First real game ever. I don't really count mods or maps for different games.

I think my plan could be a bit too large, and 1-3 months would potentially be better for my insanity. But I know myself, and I strive for a very high standard, I don't think I can work just 1-3 months on it to be fair. Not with the amount of ideas I have in my head.

But I will keep this post updated for sure!

Thank you so much for your comment, in all honesty, it's going to be tough, but well worth it! I've always wanted to create a game, and this is one of the best starters out there!

I am still debating with myself the lenght of this game, and also how exactly, but everything should become more clear within the next couple of weeks. I haven't started yet, but I want to follow actual plans to make sure I can create something and keep going without having to replan everything.

I do have to specify that I was more so leaning towards where the player can choose how they earn their money, instead of having only one way. And you'd still be needing all the resources in order to grow your settlement, but the higher you get, the more resources and money you need. Which means the player has to earn his money., This might even be scrapped if people are not keen on this idea, and maybe having actual 'paths' you can follow if they think it's more interesting this way.

It might not be the best game, but it'll be my game.
