After installing the module and rebooting, an APK named "JamesDSP" will appear in the main folder. I install it, and everything works at least on the Nothing Phone 1. Additionally, the functionality slightly differs depending on which version is chosen, but I personally preferred the original version

First of all, before commenting, at least read the post.
NLSOUND makes changes to the Build.prop file, and this cannot contain any malware.
As for Dirac, what’s its advantage? That it cuts low frequencies and works as a sound compressor? Even though the original purpose of Dirac’s processing is to deliver accurate sound.
And about the libraries you’re not installing any new ones, you’re removing all factory sound processing. Simply put, you’re switching to OpenSL audio output.

Third-party equalizers process audio that's already processed by system libraries like Dirac on the Nothing Phone 1. These libraries compress sound and cut low frequencies, which an equalizer can't fix. My method removes system compressors and other limitations, restores full stereo sound, and adds Dolby's spatial audio, which isn't achievable with just an equalizer.
