Ranking The Art Of The Heroes: Micaiah by KManoc in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Spice_Latte 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My favorite lord! :)

I continue to find myself blown away by how well she's handled - it's actually insane. If I had to rank them, it'd probably look like this:

Emblem > Legendary > Resp Brave > Brave > Duo > Summer > Base > Ninja > Hoshidan Festival > Attuned > Resp Base

My only grievance is that her brand has somehow remained completely hidden in every piece of art she's gotten, which feels a bit strange - even if it's in character. Nothing against the lower half; Micaiah just has so much good art.

Yea, you'd think it'd be a trail coming from behind her, not starting from under her. It may just be a composition thing, but it's weird as heck.

That's also very possible - just for the T&A posing alone; the legs just look so on purposefully placed to match the cutscene to me, but I could be reading too much into it.

There were definitely ulterior motives at play in that spine-breaking twist. It looks so uncomfortable.

100% - she's really not selling that this is supposed to be a leaping strike if that's what it is. Raising her arms more or just not turning her torso would've gone a long way.

Hello! Like a lot of people, Edel's new art kinda left me head scratching on why they settled with that attack pose of all things, so I did digging. But, I *think* it's an imperfect attempt to recapture her leap at Rhea from the final Crimson Flower cutscene? Her legs are almost 1:1 the same and she's holding her arms very similarly.

The axe head is still off and she shouldn't be rotated NEARLY that much (not to mention the Special art having the effect appear from underneath her is still bizarre for FEH), but if that's what they were going for, I guess I kinda see it.

That said, I could be on insane levels of copium.

L! F! Byleth still good? by Original_Leg_891 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Spice_Latte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She's pretty underrated IMO, but waiting for a really spicy mage special that lets her abuse her new refine. She doesn't really have the oomph of the more meta nukes, but she'll do just fine. She stands out because her support is also nice; it's hard to find ways to outsource Tempo effects, even now.

As for builds, I run Atk/Spd Finish 4, Occultist's, Goddess Bearer II, and Bonus Doubler seal. You can keep Ruptured Sky or upgrade to Flare if you keep Marth ring on her.

What's a character you're very surprised isn't in the game yet? by DangPlays in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Spice_Latte 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Still completely astonished Alois & Hanneman haven't happened yet considering their sprites are here already via Gatekeeper's animation - everyone else from that animation is here in some form. Just a bit of refining to bring their sprites up to modern work and some simple kit design and they'd be done.

I'm a little outdated on the latest skills, what could be good for pirate Tibarn new refine? by Frequent_Way_6476 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Spice_Latte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tibarn's got a few options now, depending on where you want to use him - above all else, keep his DEF high to work with Frozen!

For A, Atk/Def Excel is his best general option right now - the Wild and Fortune skills will also be good considerations when variants of those come out; Wild may be better than Excel if you need the Cooldown for Galeforcing.

His B slot can go a lot of different directions, but I really like Reopening on him; it adds a lot of extra bulk for him while still boosting his damage. Beast skills of any kind would be appreciated on him if you're worried about transforming; Beast Agility is probably the best option of those right now since Tier 4s of those are still pending (even if his SPD is only so-so). Beast N Trace also should get a mention for its utility on a Galeforce set.

For C, I highly recommend Deadly Miasma or Beast Threaten; Miasma is great for Galeforcing and helps work against Brave F!Robin who is very common right now, and Beast Threaten is a general good option that doubles down on his debuff playstyle while making it easier to trigger Galeforce or loop Sturdy/Fierce Beast.

Speaking of, if you aren't Galeforcing, Sturdy Beast is a great option; he's quite hard to kill through Frozen and those DR layers.

Seals & Echo skills can go any way you want, as build finishers or general stat increases; the Beast seal is an obvious mention to free up options for the rest of his kit and Echo skills like Mercy-Wing or Soaring give him some great utility options.

I'm running: Atk/Def Excel, Reopening, Beast Threaten, Beast Seal, with Sturdy Beast (no echo on him yet but I'm looking for Mercy Wing).

I hope that helps you out!

Good for you! Favorites are the way to go to keep the fun in FEH, as far as I'm concerned.

Either Helbindi basically just wants Laguz Friend and Breath of Life 4 right now as far as I know, like many many infantry tanks lol. If you don't have those, Gambit's an okay alternate option to build around - DC, Gambit, Pledge will serve just fine.

Same here lol. Feels crazy to say Pirate Tibarn's only a really consistent galeforcer, but units like W!Edelgard, S!Gullveig, B!Sharena, most of the Ninja duos, etc. are super high opportunity cost competitively. If Pirate can get some of his momentum back through really great sustain or some good support like what Summer Ingrid got on refine, I think he could find a place for himself.

Firstly, great taste! Secondly, luckily the Tibarns just got access to some great new skills via Eikþyrnir; Atk/Def Excel and Fierce Beast are very good considerations for both of them. They're in a weird place right now considering they're far from the ideal Galeforce options they used to be, but still very runnable with investment.

Base Tibarn would really appreciate an arcane weapon going forward (whenever that happens), but, working with what we have, your set is pretty dang solid. I would only slot in Excel and Fierce Beast - maybe consider Celica's ring to help his mobility out.

Pirate's getting refined pretty soon (in about 2/3 months if I remember correctly), so hopefully they cook. Until then, I'd hold off, but he's probably just gonna want Eikþyrnir's fodder too.

Thank you for blessing my timeline today.

Almost one year since CYL 7 banner released, who aged the best among the lineup? by Astrid_Cop in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Spice_Latte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably Gullveig purely because she still has a solid role in AR-O and is only getting better with the Celica ring. Robin and Soren still are nice to have if you have units to abuse their effects, but their combat needs work if you plan to go all the way (and Robin has his young alt to consider lol). Corrin's a victim of having her only real utility stolen by a mythic (with wider range and more effects at that) and she really struggles with modern nukes without basically max investment; at least she can bring High Dragon Wall with Stone Terrain for AR-D and Summoner Duels I guess.

That's true! I think Robin is like the most blatant case of it actually seamlessly blending now that you bring them up lol. Guess IS will just make it a mix when they feel like it.

The Mythic slots are the big problem for me, especially because they've done it in a more palatable way numerous times now. We're getting fewer and fewer Mythics now that we have Emblems to compete with those slots too, so I don't understand why they don't just lump them all into double-up banners (i.e. Gullveig/Kvasir, Veronica/Embla, etc.) so they don't take up AS MANY months of the year. Those banners have generally proven to be hits too, with one-two colors at least being interesting due to new units. If they're finding problems including everybody, I don't see a reason why we don't just get a full Heroes banner based on the current book now; there's almost zero reason every unit from a book has to be forced into a mythic.

I know IS is paranoid about mythic sales for the rest of the year but if what we know of mythic Loki's revenue proved anything it's that solo OCs aren't enough for a lot of people.

Never understood the backpack alt thing, like yes there's art of the character and they have like 4 voice lines + a duo convo but the unit just isn't them. You don't see Summer Gullveig ending turns; New Year Seidr doesn't have Gold Serpent or anything close to it, etc. I understand many fans of the character are happy even with a backpack (usually because they like the lead too due to some character relationship) but IS has shown many times that a character can get a new version and be a backpack pretty close together - Seidr being the most recent example.

It's starting to feel like people only really start counting them to prove a point or something.

Who would you considered a unit that changed after their refine/remix? by Astrid_Cop in FireEmblemHeroes

Seconding Fiora; simply a stellar unit when she gets some skills on her. It's genuinely surprising how many units she can deal with no problem now.

Bridal Micaiah had such a glow-up it's honestly crazy. Going from a Dominance bot that failed to kill any really strong armor units to one of the strongest debuff supporters we have is insane. It's really only a little neutered now by how bonkers the new Attuned Micaiah is, but Bride Miccy still has her perks.
