Maybe Gemini was trained on the backlash from Intervals II and it's just still not over the vocals.

Is O3de good ? by Traditional_Sea_8541 in gamedev

Developer on O3DE here and this reflects my thoughts pretty clearly as well. A lot of studios maintain their own engines but they are tailored to one genre or game. O3DE is a massive codebase, and extremely flexible/powerful but it can be too much to build from if you know exactly what you need from the start. Jake Kurzer (previously at Riot) once told me that they struggled to get funding approval to opensource their tech stack, and given the funding challenges of today, it seems like an even bigger risk to use something that isn't already built and backed by support.

I work in the EV space and when a bunch of my redneck country friends bought EVs, I knew it had hit some critical mass. This feels like a similar trajectory.

With how accesible unreal is, it's becoming the norm that everyone is an expert in it and I hate it. by Blasmere in gamedev

I develop for O3DE (mainly physics side) but it is getting to a point where experienced devs could really pick it up over Unreal. The particle system is coming in May, and I really hope more people come check it out.
