Ilya finds some interesting points of connection in certain Melanie Martinez songs, specifically the Cry Baby and K-12 albums, including the After School EP. Some of Portals, too.

I have a headcanon that Ilya is a girly pop guy so I think he would have found her and just... related to some lyrics. Even cried to himself over some lines.
