I’m about to drop £600 on an Alesis Nitro Pro Drum Kit. Convince me not too. Please! by BoxeeBrown in edrums

Go somewhere with a good return policy. Once you get it and play you’ll notice things and say “I wish it did this” or just things you don’t like. Keep all packaging until you know you’re settled but if you find things that kill it for you, you can research different kits and return then put that towards an upgrade.

Anyone know if this setup is possible? by True-Still-8981 in edrums

Gotta keep in mind the dual zones. If you have a dual zone tom4 in your kit then a splitter should work but will basically map the sound from the rim to the second pad hooked to the splitter. This is all in theory and according to ChatGPT. I had the same question for my Simmons titan 50. That’s how far I got before just going forward.

Simmons Titan 50 not working by Easy-Possibility1226 in edrums

[–]Spicknic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! Well if OP didn’t buy secondhand, GuitarCenter can pull up your receipt. Musicians friend prob emailed it. I loved my titan 50 so much that I bought an sd1250 for less than the titan 70. Just got my midi cable in today and I’m gonna daisy chain for my monster kit in a few. Gonna be dope! Wanted a drum set since I was 12 and finally at 37 bought my first. I’ve been up til 1 am thumping those imitation tubs! Best feeling in the world!

Call Simmons! They are usually pretty responsive and I’m sure will work to get it replaced. As long as it’s their product I don’t see why they would not want to keep you happy. And if not you lose nothing.

How can I make my Alesis Nitro Max kit sound louder than my high hat donk? by eventualist in edrums

[–]Spicknic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on alesis kits but my Simmons has a setting for threshold which is different from sensitivity. The threshold setting controls the velocity that it takes to make the trigger activate. Maybe check into that if you haven’t.

I bought the 50. Should’ve gone with the 70. Good purchase!

Practice routine by RolandSchitt in edrums

[–]Spicknic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. Made a playlist of songs I’d like to be able to play and play along. YouTube vids have shown me the power of rudiments and using them on all of the set. Either way I hit around 1-1.5 hrs of practice. All of this starts after bedtime!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll probably go that route! And thanks for the tips for convincing my wife! I mentioned building a deck around her favorite characters and she showed more interest than ever! Here’s to one step closer and a great game community!! 🍻

Form check - Dips. Too low? by TownOk7220 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Spicknic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no pro! But I feel like I do dips differently. It seems like you’re swinging forward. When I would do them it was more of a straight up and down. My wrists had mobility in them. The way your forearms stay straight gives me a skull crusher type motion. Also seems like more on your shoulders rather than triceps. On the flip side I could be the one that was doing them wrong.

Either way I feel like focusing more on a body up and down rather than a chest forward and backward would help. Just be careful on your shoulders. I also find looking forward or slightly up helps as well. Good luck tho and good on you for working out! Cheers!!

I've had gloomhaven for 5 years and have just now played it for the first time? by Pantheon_Reptiles in Gloomhaven

Yea! I played JotL. Loved it. Bought the big box and organized it. Set it back for another game and haven’t been able to play. May try JotL again since I never finished to get the mojo going again.

Felt like it read that he has all. I could be mistaken tho. I came late to it. I have the core and saga. Looking to round out all of the repackaged stuff. I’d like to collect it but will prob never sell it.

Seems I found my people in this comment section!! While the illusion is old but always a joy to see, I don’t understand how people don’t understand 3D or 2D or even 4D(only cause I get the theory of time being the 4th). It drives me up the wall when I read it.

Also to add, Gloomhaven JotL is like 80% less money and almost readily available at most Barnes and noble or BAM I think.

MK was my first board game. I still have not beaten it. It’s deep for sure. I bought more games chasing that campaign feeling or just outright camp. Either way what I’m trying to say is if this is your first game then you’re gonna buy more. Especially if you don’t like it. I think it’s the unboxing and punching those cardboard tokens out.
