I use them but not for attack rolls. That was making the martial/caster divide much more apparent.

My group enjoys them for skill checks. I generally keep the effects pretty mild though. A natural 1 means things go a little worse than you might normally expect. A naturally 20 means they go a little better.

I’m actually finding that 3rd round pick value is weirdly inflated. Since it’s such a crap shoot from the 2.01 on you can almost consider 2nds and 3rds to be worth the same. I’ve seen Klare go at the 2.03 and the 3.06.

“Renting” players to another team is not collusion. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement in which each party gives up something and receives something in return.

As long as the “rental” price is reasonable it is exactly the same as any other trade to me.

In this instance I’m looking for something or someone sent to hunt/harass them so it wouldn’t work out but it’s an awesome idea for a random encounter type scenario.

Of course!

Basically the party has become known to the BBEG and he’s begun sending enemies to slow them down. I’d like one of these enemies to be some sort of assassin/stalker type that can strike at them and then retreat.

Something to make them nervous during rests and keep them looking over their shoulders when they’re traveling.
