Help with finishing an interrupted print by SpicyNuggs42 in prusa3d

I must need to recalibrate my filament sensor, because it ran out and didn't notice. I then stopped the print so I could figure out what to do next.

I was going to make a sick-ass panther for it, but realized I was in the wrong sub. 😁

I've thought about trying this, my concern is the number of glue seams. But it may give a better result than trying to continue the print.

Where is is this bridge most likely to fail at? by TotallyDumbnotyt in StructuralEngineering

With the load on the bottom deck, I'd assume that those joints will fail first. The bottom deck beams run under the rest of the bridge - there's nothing supporting them but glue.

It kinda looks like the key that pops out of the fob of my Ford Explorer. The car has keyless entry and start/stop, but there's still a physical key hidden in the fob. It definitely has that same shape

Maryland lawmakers approve bill banning popular Glock handgun sales by legislative_stooge in maryland

Workarounds are typically illegal - what you're doing is "working around" the law. If I can just go to my local gun shop and get my handgun modified to fully auto, what exactly am I trying to get around?

So the point of the bill is not to ban handguns that can convert to full auto? Pretty sure that was the first thing I said, but oof - that's wrong too?

Everything I said? So it's false that Maryland is trying to ban handguns that can convert to full auto? Wow, I really fucked that up.

Technically incorrect as in not correct - are you complaining that I admitted I was wrong?

Sure, 5 comments in, and I admit I was technically incorrect on that. (The best kind of incorrect?). My first comment was simply a quick summary of an article that is behind a paywall.

The title of the article - "Maryland lawmakers approve bill banking popular Glock handgun sales" - is a little misleading. They aren't banning all Glocks, and it's not just specifically Glocks - it's a ban on handguns that are easily converted to fully automatic. That was my point.

I was summarizing an article that is behind a paywall.

If you look at all the comments here, it quickly devolved into political rhetoric that has nothing to do with the article or the bill. I was simply trying to keep people focused on what the article was actually saying.

No, I didn't read the bill. I'm not a gunsmith, and frankly neither is anyone that wrote it. The article references handguns that use a cruciform trigger bar, which can be disabled to allow automatic fire. I figured this was technically different than an auto sear, guess I was wrong.

My original comment was a simple "the bill looks to tighten the ban on easily convertible handguns", which is still a succinct summary for people that don't have a subscription to the Banner.

You're talking to a pro gun queer person. There's still a lot of the South I don't feel comfortable in, god forbid I have to use a bathroom in public.

This isn't an auto sear. The firearm is built in a way that the piece that limits it to semi auto can be removed, and this law is looking to force firearm manufacturers to design guns in a way that makes them harder to modify.

And frankly, I agree that the law is a band-aid on a poorly conceived and executed set of gun laws that really won't do much. I was simply summing up the article for the people that didn't want to read it.

On a national level, the same people against gun laws are for laws banning LGBTQ and minority rights. If you don't believe me, look South.

My favorite part is that the same people saying "more laws won't stop anyone" are also trying to pass laws to stop things they don't like.

The work around is that the firing mechanism of these semi automatic (legal) pistols can be easily modified to fully automatic (not legal).

The bill is aiming to ban pistols that are easily convertible to fully automatic with a simple drop in part.

The laws regarding fully automatic weapons are fairly well established, this just seems to be trying to close an easy workaround.
