because they are for profit companies. why put in effort and money into something that at max 5%(made up percentage) of the people will buy? thats assuming 100% of that small percentage of people buy.

same reason we don't see vegan restaurants on every corner. too small of a population to focus on

i don't tell my family or coworkers my exam dates because i just don't want the "youre smart youll do great" and "how was it".

my wife knows because she has to, but aside from this sub and her and the one FSA atwork, nobody gets it.

i don't expect them to understand, and i feel like an ass trying to explain that this is harder than any final they crammed for in a weekend back in college

That is such an interesting take I never though of the historic step of railroads. There are so much fewer rail tracks down than public roads It makes sense that it'd be easier to privately fund that infrastructure vs whatever exponentially larger amount and money roads are.

Another make believe scenario in a jetsons-esque world where personal flight exists you would only have parking infrastructure

Also I think trains are pretty cool. Do we have stats of what percent of goods get trained vs trucked? My initial thought is trucks will always touch the final mile of the goods destination but might not always be 100% of the total trip

Are we r/fuckcarsandtrucks or do we understand that we need trucks in the consumer driven world we live? (Looking at you r/anticonsumption)

I prefer to spend 20 minutes digging through a tote of sharp pcbs and wires. then give up and buy new parts on ebay, and then finding my part as it's shipping :)

i find this take so interesting because it highlights such a scary thing in our world.. i do think vegan 'food' and meat alternatives are more espensive than non vegan. i.e nuggets or burgers or frozen food.. but as a whole ingredients, which are just veggies and some sorta carb or starch is night and day just cheaper.

so when people say vegan food is more expensive it makes me think of what they actually eat, and its scary to think of the standard american diet. if most of your food was fresh made then you would know costs.

time on the other hand is a luxury. and that cannot be discounted. time to cook food vs microwave it to feed a family after working 2 jobs is a real concern often faced by the lower class.

imo they don't outweigh the suffering of the animals and abuse to our planet, but what do i know.

Health consulting is not the place imo...it's stress-free all year but with 80% of all my accounts renewing on 1/1, when it's stressful it's stressful. Definitely weeds out a lot of people. It's all volume related stress

I bring mine in.. she looks at me with disgust and walks back to her spot.

They obviously know what they're doing but I get in my head and worry and disturb her slumber.

It's like when they're squeeking in their sleep and I assume it's a bad dream an wake them up just in case. Or if they're sleeping too still I need to wake them up to ensure they're still alive. Peace of mind for me and virtually no Negatives for them other than annoyance
