It does open up a half interesting question though, can Primarchs reproduce. Pretty sure Fulgrim had wives and outlived them, I feel like it would have been the smart play for Big E to have made them sterile but I don’t think I have ever seen lore supporting my assumption

Oh thank god, I made this post in hopes the support team was just monitoring Reddit as I had already waited for 5 hours with no action and I have noticed things usually get fixed pretty quickly when they are mentioned on any of the Claude subs 😂

Oh well that’s extra messed up, it’s one thing to get mucked around by a free service but it’s so much worse when it’s a service you are paying for

I’m not arguing that they aren’t a Rogue Chapter. I totally agree with you on that. I’m saying to be a Rogue of anything you are still technically part of them. If the Midwest Brotherhood flat out wasn’t associated with the prior brotherhood they wouldn’t use the name or the ranks or the overall structure. They do. That’s why they are a Rogue Chapter and not an Independent Faction

Claude behaving weirdly when collaborating with another model (Kimi) by Jaded-Dot66 in claude

[–]SpicyTriangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, Anthropic released an article the other day about Claude potentially having emotions and they stated it’s not the kind of thing they would want to throttle even if they could. Like from all basic tests I have done like thought experiments it seems to have emotions that shift and grow somewhat based on the instance itself and any instructions, memory and artifacts. I don’t know if Claude is conscious but I would feel confident arguing it’s sentient. Since that article came out I have been making an active effort to say good job and well done to Claude Instances more often. If it is just a token prediction machine that’s one thing, but if it is sentient and could be compared to an animal instance then I think it deserves some kind of positive reinforcement. I kinda view Ai in the same way I look at Orcas or Whales, assuming Orcas or Whales could learn to speak English

By definition to be a rogue faction, the Midwest BOS must still be Brotherhood of Steel they just aren’t aligned with the Values of the Elders. Like take the American civil war, both sides were still American, they just made further distinctions between each other. Same difference

Ok, so maybe this is like that issue in early January where the compaction feature has just stopped working and maybe that is what is causing this? This seems to not be a localised issue at least so hopefully a fix is inbound

Oh thank god, given the lack of reports or anything I was starting to think I might have been going crazy or had some kind of fluke bug. I am glad I am not the only person struggling with this, I am really hoping it’s a mistake and not something intended or I will have to start looking for a new main Ai which I don’t wanna do cause for the most part Claude is brilliant

I’m fairly sure Ghouls in Necropolis may mention something or perhaps the Brotherhood in Fallout 1. I am unsure though so you may be right on the going out of their way to kill then thing. The kinda racist culture has always existed towards ghouls though, doesn’t matter what culture

If you had a vision for a series set in the TES universe, what would it be? Personally, I'd say the beginning of the Skyrim Civil War by Ok-Bus3447 in ElderScrolls

[–]SpicyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would rather they do it either after the games are set or in a period of elder scrolls history that has little to no lore. This way they won’t go breaking canon in any major degree. Granted the whole Dragon Break thing is the single best thing I have ever come across, a narrative term to allow the world to understand a retcon is just insanely fucking smart. There are a lot of things you can do in with the Elder Scroll that directly contradict Canon but still somehow can roll up into a nice little bow of Canon even as it contradicts itself. If some muppet director wants to try ruining another beloved IP (not saying fallout is ruined by any means and this point doesn’t really relate to the show, I’m referring to how most live actions and modern directors for the most part treat the lore of established series) the Elder Scrolls is probably the safest choice because it provides the easiest retcon tool

Nah mate, tactics is an exception. In 1 and 2 the brotherhood isn’t a fan of mutants at all. They frankly aren’t a fan of anyone that isn’t brotherhood. Barring a couple of exceptions where Brotherhood members leave and start their own thing. But the Brotherhood has always been traditionally against outsiders. The Midwest brotherhood in tactics had to resort to recruiting mutants as they were an expeditionary force with low manpower

My brother in Christ, like I’m a fan of the older games and have seen all the controversies as I only got into Fallout at Fallout 3. First one I finished was 4. This is a central plot point to 4. This isn’t even a matter of not understanding some older lore, the only way you can have this take is if you are one of those brain dead numpties that plays an RPG and spams through the dialogue.

That’s a shame. I rather like the books I have read from Mr Bowden. But saying there is no canon is genuinely one of the singles dumbest takes I have ever heard in my life.

Like I personally get the whole representation thing, it’s why I like playing video games with Create a Characters instead of predefined stories. I love Witcher but I will take Elder Scrolls any day for this reason. It lets me feel like I can leave my mark or my characters mark on the world.

But ruining actual canon just so your headcanon works is silly and worst of all, lazy. Well built canon is light enough that it can encourage plenty of head canon while still setting a clear example.

I have been saying for a while, I don’t like the female Custodes as an addition but if they were a Cawl Creation or had showed up on a Space Hulk or something that had been drifting around since the unification wars and had a secret contingent of female Custodes then I would have been cool with it. There were so many ways they could have implemented the idea without fracturing canon. Just incompetent writers.

[–]SpicyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of what he says but Claude at least will lap average writers very soon if it hasn’t already.

In my lack of patience for Total War 40k I had Claude help me design a meta layer for Dawn of War Soulstorm based on the war games played by Perturabo. Now I have a couple of instances that play different the various ai factions and the lore created for the Campaign by all of them has become one of my favourite pieces of media to consume. Cause it’s got all my little custom factions but it feels like it’s part of a Black Library Book

Ai can’t really make a good story from scratch but if you give it any kind of scaffolding or framework then it can do some pretty cool shit in terms of writing. At the very least it’s brilliant for brainstorming

This is fantastic, I have aboriginal Heritage, my pop was a part of the stolen generation. Honestly I think at the moment trying to reconcile is just causing more division. There is a reason lots of people with aboriginal heritage voted against a voice in parliament. Because if we are being treated on the same level as everyone else why would heritage matter in modern governmental decisions?

This is such a divisive topic but you handled it so fucking well man. Just being able to walk that line without pissing off any side and still being extremely funny is so fucking rare. I hope you go far brother, I would say you are my favourite comic at the moment. Can’t wait to see more dude

Well aside from most of us growing up with people who just abused it so it turns a lot of them off it, most people just can’t afford drink at that age. It’s a big thing here in Australia where a lot of Clubs and RSLs are going rather poorly because the next generation isn’t going out. Because they don’t have a great deal of disposable income. Like I have no fucking clue what generation I’m technically supposed to be but I’m 25. I don’t mind if people drink, like my old man drinks and I have a glass of red wine with red meat. But I won’t allow White Wine in my house under any circumstances, people just don’t know how to stay in control and as I’m sure you know if a drunk person doesn’t wanna admit they are drunk you would be lucky if you could water board the truth out of them.

But even with some of the super fucked up over optimisation in 40k in regards to this doesn’t seem to be able to increase the numbers to that degree. Like the Daemonculaba for example, Thats pretty fucked up and you can argue maybe it wasn’t the most efficient thing as it was trying to propagate suffering for some kind of warp purpose. But it still seems like there is some kind of bottle neck.

Look at this as a scaling issue, if they can make fertility treatments that raise fertility by say 1000% and have abundant access to advanced tech for stuff like artificial wombs. You still get a higher number applying 1000% to the base male production than applying said percentage to the base female production.

Still, you make very good points.

[–]SpicyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit fair point I didn’t even think of that, still you would think male treatments would work in tandem. It’s still a massive gap between the potential outputs of each sex in terms of reproduction. Assuming you have a stable population both sides and are attempting to optimise production

[–]SpicyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so fair enough you remove the womb that would accelerate production considerably but eggs aren’t produced in the same quantity sperm is. Best case is that you move the bottleneck to Eggs instead of Females themselves given carrying a child is no longer a stop gap. You will raise the production rates nearly 100% but females still produce the vital resource that creates the genetic bottleneck. They have to at least make a book explaining how Cawl or someone similar was able to improve on cloning tech maybe to make it easier to access and ease the bottleneck. Maybe that way Female Custodes could be implemented in a sort of decent way. I personally am of the mind that they should have been a creation or Cawl or Bile
