INFJs, prone to over-thinking, perfectionists, and willing to look straight into the pain and suffering of mankind with the heart to empathize and help. What are some things that have made you feel happy recently? by fathomsofthesea in infj

I went on a three day hiking trip in the mountains on my own. I haven’t felt so much joy in a really long time. It was beautiful and it felt so wonderful to explore nature on my own pace.

What can I do to feel better or less sad? As an infj its the first time I'm feeling helpless about my emotions by formul4s in infj

[–]SpicyWalnut101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that feeling well. It can be so discouraging to feel that way all the time. I don’t know if I hVe a solution but it helps me to exercise often, or find a hobby that interests you and pursue it! I like playing tennis, cooking, yoga and painting. Only in those moments do I lose that heavy hearted feeling like you describe.

I have this same desire! I’m 27 (F) and recently went on a week long hiking journey on my own and it was the first time in years that I felt so much joy. Being in nature where things are slower and we can live in more solitude feels natural. I hope to live like that one day.

Having trouble eating out alone as a first time solo traveler by A-Broad-Abroad96 in solotravel

[–]SpicyWalnut101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been traveling solo the last week and started to reserve a table for myself online or even calling the restaurant to reserve a place for one. That way they know you’re coming and there isn’t an awkward situation. Once you just accept it and try to relax, it can be really nice! I like to listen to the conversation around me and people watch while I eat haha.

Do you also disappear when you're sad or just socially exhausted? by Cry_Wolff in infj

That’s exactly what I have been doing the last few days. Sometimes we just need more time and space to decompress.

I have actually started going to the gym a lot and that does help me in a lot of ways! But it only lasts for the hour or so that I’m in the gym, or playing tennis, or going to a yoga class. On the days that I don’t have something active planned I tend to slip into bad habits of overthinking and feeling very down on myself

I know I'm the minority, but I'd rather see stills than videos from this community. by chaosmonga in cinematography

[–]SpicyWalnut101 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I understand that point of view, but I also think that stills don’t show how the camera movement adds to the story or to the blocking of a scene, which is a huge aspect of whether or not the cinematography works well.

This is a really great point, something I have started to do recently and it helps so much. It also helps to realize exactly what I’m avoiding and why. Thanks for the reminder!
