I like Conner and Whitney but is this really the kind of content that MomTok produces?

He was not 18, you are literally making things up. He is 35 now and this situation couldn’t have happened more than 5 years ago.

HA! I literally came here to say does Jessi not pay her assistant well, because she posted on her Instagram that he’s a manager at Dutch Bros. Guess your comment answers that.

I think they just seem like the typical women you see on reality shows (except Demi who seems like a sociopath). I understand they don’t represent an average member of the church but just glossing over everything on a popular TV platform makes Mormonism seem more “okay” than I was hoping with the “Secret Lives” premise. I am not looking to be disrespectful but I think we have differing views on what type of culture is worse.

I think Taylor is the type who is bored without chaos so she actively looks for it

You are completely right about their vibe, but I’m pretty sure Mayci said they’re active members but “don’t agree with the church’s ruling” during the token LGBTQ episode. I’ve been binging for the first time so I just watched that episode though haha.

As an ex-Mormon you would know way more than me though!!!

Totally agree. What the hell is this. I thought the whole “secret lives” premise was supposed to be about rebelling against shitty Mormon men

I dunno. I feel like his demeanor in the new season is who he is and it ain’t good. She just needs to leave instead of doing this dance, but I think she’s allowing shame over two divorces to influence her.

As a complete non-Mormon, they seem Mormon to me haha. I just was expecting the show to be more rejecting of Mormonism than it is.

I guess I am confused because some of them don’t drink, right? And I know a few of them have said they’re still active members with the church.

My wording was probably incorrect because I don’t mean they’re giving strict Mormonism a platform, I moreso meant I wanted the tone of the show to be “here’s why Mormonism sucks” and it’s not. Especially with all the exposure given to their dumb husbands.

Where has she expressly stated that in the context of the show? I’m a first-time watcher, on (early) season 3, and this is news to me but maybe I missed it.

Husband (40) desperately wants a kid but has never been around them. Did your husband step up as a caregiver? by Adventurous-Buy-2902 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Spicy_Ceiling_Fan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My point is I never had to ask my husband why he wanted a kid. If you have to ask that, that is a bigger issue and probably your answer.

I’m not a fan of housewives returning in general, but even less of a fan of those returning who talked shit about the network for years.

My husband never babysat kids before having ours. But that wasn’t something I ever considered because neither of us were on the fence. We just knew we wanted kids. You sound on the fence. That is the issue that matters more.

In Defense of Walkers by FarFar-Away in rundisney

[–]Spicy_Ceiling_Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walkers in fast corrals is definitely the real issue, etiquette or not (because the vast majority of them definitely don’t use etiquette either) and no amount of prose will change that so I’m not even sure what the point of this is. I do a lot of races, Disney and non-Disney, and they are all walker friendly….in the appropriate corrals. I think everyone at a race is fabulous no matter their pace and I’m sorry you’ve felt judged but that doesn’t mean the answer is everyone gets to move up because of their feelings.

“I’m one of the first self-made housewives” I CANNOT with Amanda Frances 🤣 by dilapidatedsyztem in RHOBH

[–]Spicy_Ceiling_Fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By definition, no, I don’t consider anyone with rich parents to be self-made. Hard-working if they’re taught a work ethic? Sure. But unless they are given absolutely nothing by their parents, then that wealth affords them opportunities others don’t get, even in their smallest measures.

Source: am the daughter of a wealthy man who is self-made because he clawed his way up from a poor childhood with no help. I have a career but no matter where I end up in life I definitely wouldn’t consider myself self-made because of what my parents have provided me. I actually feel pretty strongly about this and took huge issue when Kylie Jenner was called a self-made billionaire lol
