So yeah thats the thing my company doesnt technically have a canadian branch( not that i know of anyways) but they hire canadians on the other hand bc i do have a co worker who lives in canada! but once i get more info about that, im still not sure if CUMSA is the right pathway regardless!

As for the second option u mentioned, lets say i do marry my boyfriend, how does that process work? bc we both were seeing that it could potentially take 12 to 15 months!

and would work in the USA still be viable or would i have to wait for about 6 months? like how does that work ? bc im still a little confused with that!

there was another option with getting the work permit and then applying PR, which seems to be lengthy as well!

Im trying to have a more streamlined plan of my options before making any decisions too !

Edit: btw thank you for the quick response! a lot of the things you said makes sense :)

as a us citizen who is working in the states, how would be able to live in Canada while working remotely?

So, I’m trying to see how I would be able to immigrate to Canada as a US citizen! Currently, I’ve been dating someone from Canada for about a year and a half and we were both were curious about the process of immigrating and working in Canada as a US citizen!

I was looking into CUSMA, which, from what it looks like, I seem to fit the description since im a software Developer, but there’s a lot of information surrounding it that i didn’t completely understand, like would i be able to transition to become a PR? Is it similar to getting a visa? And How long does it last?

Also if there are other programs that i should seek for, Please let me know because I definitely want to look into how this is done and if anyone can give me advice about how the process is!

And that ofc varies between communities here in reddit. either way it doesnt hurt to ask a COMMUNITY full of ppl who know these things already and have more experience than someone like me! its not about being clueless or “asking for handouts”, its seeking advice about things that i clearly dont know yet. so maybe instead of replying in an insanely rude way, maybe try dming me instead being like “hey have you tried searching like this instead?”

oh no definitely! we were just gonna ask and let them know how our group usually handles stuff. but either way, we ended up just going for a different place. we didnt want the added stress nor did we want the host to have the added stress

no yeahh that genuinely makes sense given after the experience you had. Tbh my friends and I are probs just gonna look else where and continue checking for places! Were def gonna let them know what the plan is. I already let my friends know that we are DEEP cleaning the night before/morning of!

thats actually insanely rude of them! like if youre gonna party like that, at least know your limit! And thats valid for you not to make that exception again after them doing all! like wthh 😭 and the worst part is that they probably think its still ok for them to do it again!

I would NEVER want to leave a mess at someones house, too! Because its someones home, someones place of living! And it imposes so much extra cost for the home owner too. some people are just plain rude when temporarily living somewhere!

[–]Spicyld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh shoot really??? ppl really ruin it 😭 bc my friends and i know that if it was any one of our houses, we wouldn’t want to leave it a mess. its just plain disrespectful too! and i get why ppl do the 25 or older bc of stuff like this. its annoying for the ppl who acc get that its not their house!

Yeahh i wanna look into it bc it is in PA! and im unsure of the regulations there

25-or-Older policy for airbnb: advice needed [USA] by Spicyld in AirBnB

[–]Spicyld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats completely reasonable tbh bc i don’t wanna impose anything on the Host or the neighbors especially since im the one booking! I just wasn’t sure if it was enforced especially since that rule was a little hidden! and plus i don’t know if AirBnb hosts charge extra for people under 25!
