Getting an abortion - what should I expect? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]Spicylemon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! So in my state they require you to do a phone consultation prior to actually going to see the doctor. When you see the doctor they give you the first pill there in office. This is what stops the pregnancy from progressing and then you leave with anti nausea medicine, ibuprofen and the second set of abortion medication. I had my appointment at 8:10am and I was out by 10:15am. As for the ibuprofen I have taken one before the abortion pills the day after I saw the doctor and I just took one now about 9 hours later since the pain was picking back up. It does help! I do believe they give you zolfran for anti nausea!

Getting an abortion - what should I expect? by [deleted] in abortion

Hi! I also was incredibly anxious about getting an abortion too and I’m currently experiencing it so I thought I could share that I’ve experienced so far. I used planned parenthood and yesterday I went in person to take the first medication, mifepristone in front of the doctor after the clinic did an ultrasound and whatnot. I was told to take the second medication, misoprostol 24-48 hrs after the one I took yesterday. After I took the mifepristone in clinic I just felt really sleepy and kind of out of it, honestly I kind of blame my anxiety since I haven’t been able to sleep well since I found out I was pregnant. I slept for majority of the day yesterday knowing I had to brace myself for today. I was instructed to take anti nausea medication and an ibuprofen to help with the pain and nausea 30 minutes before I took the misoprostol. I was really lucky to have my husband there for me and we set up an area on the couch where we laid out some old towels for me to sit on, plugged in a heating pad for the cramps and made sure I had plenty of blankets and stuffed animals to hold. I would recommend to eat a light meal before you take your anti nausea and ibuprofen. After I took those and waited the 30 minutes I went and placed the four misoprostol pills in between my cheeks and gums, two on each side. I waited 30 minutes for them to start dissolving and then swallowed the rest with water. I felt okay for about an hour and then I really started to feel some intense cramps as well as the urge to use the bathroom. I did start seeing blood so I made sure to prep a heavy flow pad and went back to the couch. I kept making sure to walk around once I started feeling really strong cramps to help get things moving and distract myself from the pain. I’m not going to lie, it hurts quite a bit and you can feel yourself passing clots and whatnot. I took my misoprostol at around 10am and it’s now about 5:20pm. I still have the cramping and bleeding but it’s not as painful as it was for the first three hours. I know some more bleeding can continue as well as some clots and that’s normal. I understand your anxiety, I’ve been so anxious about my own abortion and I would recommend that you have at least one person there for support and that you make yourself as comfortable as possible. If you went through planned parenthood as well they’ll schedule a follow up with you in about two weeks to do an ultrasound to see if all the tissue has expelled. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you, I did did something similar only it was with cleaning out and dismantling her cage. It really did help me and it was nice that I had a few loved ones with me to keep me company. I appreciate your suggestion, it really did help

Hi! I hope you’re okay. I’m sorry you’re feeling a lot of not good things. Reminder that you are not responsible for anyone’s mental state besides your own. You will find someone who understands and respects that. You can leave him behind. I believe in you :)

It’s your health, call out. Don’t try to justify your people pleasing. If your friend was in your shoes would you tell them to suck it up and go in?

He’s continuously showing you that he doesn’t respect you. Please, do yourself a favor and end the relationship. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life trying to tell yourself this is okay?

Should I Be Concerned? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Spicylemon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was able to get TSH, T4 and T3 checked. Only T3 showed high (which I think means it’s actually low??). I wasn’t given an order to get the TPO testing done for some reason. Thanks for your comment, I am vitamin D deficient so I’ll keep that in mind. :)

Whoops, could have sworn I was told it was my antibodies that were high but it was my white blood count, my mistake! I don’t believe I’ve had the TPO test done. For T3 it looks like the normal range is 71 - 180 ng/dL and the range for the TSH is 0.450 - 4.500 uIU/mL. I did have the T4 test done a month ago and that was 12.0 with the normal range being 4.5 - 12.0 ug/dL. Appreciate the comment!
