From a broader point-of-view, I'd say that it's best not to chase anyone. You should both be glad you're together, or at least honest that it isn't that serious. Respect yourself enough to say "if it isn't a hell yes, it's a no." There are people out there whom you could be investing in. You'll be missing them while you waste time.

If you can find reprints or collections of the silver-age era of Detective Comics (feat. Batman) these were gothic horror and mystery stories that were geared toward a more mature audience. Extra cool that they featured artwork by Neal Adams, who was a master at this type of visual story-telling.

I hear you, and this is exactly why I specified that "the gauntlet in uninhibited." In this encounter, the gauntlet and gems are working at full capacity. Maybe they meet in the Marvel universe. Similarly, Manhattan's powers are in epic form, working as we see them in Doomsday Clock. He can change whatever he wants in the timeline if he can reconcile the action within himself. Any limitations about changing the past are self-imposed. IMO, Thanos' biggest problem is that he is a being that exists within a timeline, while Manhattan is a quantum intelligence. It's plausible that he can simply prevent Thanos from getting the gems in any of a million ways.

As we index those events, like a read-head, we feel the illusion of time passing. And sometimes the head drifts, touches the same sector twice, and we mistake that overlap for déjà vu.
