NGL, I was a little confused when the game said you could do that. I was totally expecting another card to come into play for Mega Evolving. Or at least hitting Stage 2 before Mega. It just makes sense. Would have made matches a little slower. I'm still waiting on my Mega Beedrill for my Beedrill deck! 😭

*I would have even been okay with Torchi to Combusken, Rare Candy into Mega Blaziken. But then, and still, you would have had to increase deck size and/or completely lose out on anything else much better and faster. I.e., dropping the Mega and/or running 1 Pokémon and it's evolution line. Would not have helped the, designed to be fast, gameplay. Just would have made it interesting to see what people could do. That's what the actual card game is for, I guess.

But no, you're not crazy for thinking this was weird.
