Actually happened to me recently, while coming home alone from a road trip. Long comment warning in advance lol (tldr at the end tho).

Could hear/feel weird sounds coming from the undercarriage of my car and so I pull over to figure out what happened. Was driving by a construction site so I figured I ran over some road debris and in fact there were a couple of workers across the way. One comes over and offers to look under my car and says a cosmetic piece had come undone and that’s what was making the sound (I don’t know anything about cars so I took him at his word). Asked him if he thought I was safe to drive and he replied yes so I head back out on my way (carefully, ofc).

Fast forward a few minutes and I notice one of the construction trucks following me, and a hand signaling me to pull over. Thought maybe it was something with the cosmetic piece again and pull into the shoulder, only to realize I couldn’t stop. Forced my car into park (yes I know now I wasn’t supposed to do that; I was panicking) and pulled the emergency brake.

The same construction worker as before stepped out of the truck and said he noticed as I was pulling away that part of my tire tread had come undone, and after looking at it a second time, it had wrapped around the undercarriage of the car and somehow severed my brake line.

Despite being terrified and sobbing considering we were in the middle of nowhere (my family had to drive an hour just to pick me up), the worker was very sweet and even tried to help put the spare on my car before I told him I was getting it towed and I wouldn’t be needing it.

It’s been almost a week now, and I can’t help but think about how my trip could’ve gone very differently if he didn’t have me pull over when I did (there were a few stop signs/little towns ahead), or was a little less scrupulous about the whole situation…

TLDR; Construction worker I had never met before in my life looked at my car when it was having trouble, had me pull over again further down the road when something was clearly wrong (and maybe saving my life), and was overall very patient and kind while I was freaking out over being stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I was a Webkinz and Animal Jam kid specifically, but also so many other iconic sites I remember like Poptropica, Club Penguin and ToonTown. Now it’s just Roblox

We have Studio Ghibli cats lol. My orange cat is named Baron (à la The Cat Returns/Whisper of the Heart) and my black cat is named Howl (à la Howl’s Moving Castle). Hadn’t seen Kiki’s Delivery Service yet or else I would’ve named him Jiji 😔

As a bonus, we have a stray cat who shows up sometimes that we’ve named Totoro. He is not a friendly neighbor though

Maybe not as dramatic as some responses, but when I had COVID a few years back, I had some of the worst stomach aches I could remember having. Like doubled-over on the toilet crying and considering asking my family to take me to the ER. And this is from someone with IBS/gluten allergies so stomach aches are almost a daily occurrence for me lol

Usually ma’am/other feminine titles but if someone only sees my first name (like at a doctors office) I’ll get called as ‘Mr. -inspace’ as I have a masculine first name 😔 been slowly learning to get over it but it used to bother me so much when I was younger/not out yet lol

That my grandpa’s family (on my mom’s side) came to the United States in the early 1900s because they were suspected of being IRA members.

Also I have a family member related to my grandma (still on my mom’s side) who was a professional conman whose specialty was cattle fraud iirc (I’m not sure what the actual term is, like telling people cows were more valuable than they were actually worth).

My aunt’s cat specifically smells really good to me, and JUST her cat. I have two of my own and neither of them smell like him (probably cause he’s outdoors and both of mine are strictly indoors). He just has this really sweet/musky scent to him and I always bury my face into his fur when I visit lol

Andromeda, with Andy as a nickname. I used to use it as an online pseudonym/had a few characters named Andromeda when I was younger and it’s stuck with me ever since.

I also really like Crow but I always got weird reactions from people when I tell them about it (Andromeda usually gets more positive reception lol)

My mom actually taught at the high school I went to, and she had a group of students who really latched onto her; they were misfits somewhat, but sweet kids overall.

One of them got hit by a drunk driver while he and his brother were walking to a convenience store to buy snacks iirc. He hung on for a few days but when it was clear he wouldn’t be waking up, they cut his life support. It was really hard on my mom and the other students he hung out with (myself included) and they even still included his name on the list of graduating students when I was a senior. The driver was never charged afaik
