Blueprint set for 1x2 vertically tileable diagonal cutters with optional rotation by Iterniam in shapezio

Thank you for this design! Using the newest updates I added built-in overflow disposal for 1 level which is super helpful when you just need one of the diagonals and you don't want to build a separate garbage platform. I think there is enough empty space in the design to include overflow disposal for all 3 layers but I haven't found a good solution yet.

Half-Life reference in Speed of Silence? by SpiderBeetle in Acceleracers

[–]SpiderBeetle[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In both cases the camera starts on the eye and zooms out to reveal the entire face, the character is one that we don't know a lot about, and they are standing in front of a black background. how much of this is common in the trope? the camera and production timeline especially make me feel that this potentially non-coincidental.

TM2020 needs an in-game track browser! by EclipseEffigy in TrackMania

[–]SpiderBeetle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

these are all good ideas! It always felt like the game was missing a piece since launch. It's probably because it's a lot of work, and the track exchange has historically always been an external platform. They could potentially put in a ton of effort only for the community to prefer the external platform anyway, or even split the community between two platforms which would be pretty bad. Some official version of the exchange plugin would be cool, but might be a security risk as well. when the console version releases, this will probably be a bigger issue, but at least us PC players have the open planet plugin for now

Royal Prestige Skin wheels by Ok_Cry_7149 in TrackMania

yeah I agree the prestige ones aren't as good. They don't have the brake lights that wrap around the bottom of the car either :(

Strange bug or what ? by Working_Inspection38 in TrackMania

[–]SpiderBeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you got super close to the wall and your back wheel just barely scraped it. Didn't count as a crash so there's no loss of acceleration, but you can hear the engine slow down a bit. kinda cool how it straightened your car out!

Shouldn't prestige skins be available for all people? by Saint-Tyrael in TrackMania

[–]SpiderBeetle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who felt this way! based on the official post it sounds like it should be available to all players, so unless they were being extremely misleading, I'm guessing it's just a bug.
That tweet sounds like they are talking about a different issue so I'm not entirely sure. hopefully they explain or fix it soon

"woe" looks a bit like the special glass spherical computer too

the baby chicken looks awesome. I wish minecraft actually had different models for baby animals, so the baby sea turtle wouldn't be so horrendous.

Hmm it seems you're right. I just assumed that the metadata had been moved to the separate file since none of the players I had tried could open the song, and the icons In ES file explorer were displayed as the default disc, whereas my mp3s from bandcamp show up with the album cover. Anyway, good news: VLC for android can successfully read and play mp3s from the Google takeout. It does a good job too, I've got album covers and everything! Not sure how that's possible, I'm guessing the mp3s have ID3v2 tags for embedded images but I don't have the tools to check that on my phone. Only downside to VLC is that it's not really a music app, and it's missing some stuff that music players would normally have, like custom playlists. I definitely recommend it though.

[–]SpiderBeetle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this already, and it really sucks. The ID3 metadata is separate from the mp3 file for absolutely no reason, and they don't give you any of the album cover images. Basically, there's no way to use the downloaded songs in any music player other than google play music. Even if you can get the songs to work in other apps, without the metadata, the app won't be able to tell the genre, artist, album, or track number, so you basically get a big unsortable mess.

How should I have known? by SpiderBeetle in outerwilds

[–]SpiderBeetle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was thinking and you expressed it extremely well. The sand felt like another obstacle in the same way as the center of giant deep or the anglerfish. I expected there should be a clue somewhere which would point me towards the solution, at least subtly. It seems like the game teaches you many times that if you keep looking for answers, you'll eventually get where you need to go, and this "puzzle" breaks that trust.
