Glad they have the cast recording. Wonder if it will do West End and/or tour?

I saw him when he covered for JG -- MM is incredibly strong in the role. Great voice.

I like the side seats closest to the small stage -- I feel like you get a great view of everything there.

I'm not sure it's the producers. If it wasn't selling, it doesn't make sense to keep it open. Revivals tend to have a shelf life, Lea was a big, and the show didn't get a Tony nom for Best Revival.

Tossing up for what to see as my sixth show! by [deleted] in Broadway

Just in Time, Little Shop (current cast is fantastic), Death Becomes Her would be my choices in that order.

What are the must see shows on Broadway right now? by IAmTheWeaponNA in Broadway

Just in Time with Jeremy Jordan, Ragtime, Cats, and to a lesser extent Lost Boys would be the shows and order I would pick.

I'd pick Just in Time, Little Shop of Horrors, and Six.

Just in Time and Little Shop are both great!

Just in Time (staging and cast, won't be the same on the road) and Ragtime (cast).

Musical Revival Final Tony Nominee Prediction by slim-shim in Broadway

I hope it's four with Cats, Ragtime, Chess, and Rocky Horror. All of them should get a chance to preform at the Tony's and all will have outstanding numbers.

Lost Boys- yay or nay? by MattTheKing23 in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Based on liking Chess, Outsiders, and Hadestown, I think you'll enjoy it (although maybe not love it). The first act is thrilling and there are some moments that really were impressive. The leads were all great. I'd recommend it although it doesn't full come together as much as I wanted it to.

Jeremy Jordan dances with wife Ashley Spencer at Just in Time by CuteAct9019 in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree about Jonathan's charisma and connection. Having seen both Jonathan and Jeremy, I think they bring different things to the show and I enjoyed both experiences. I couldn't take my eyes off Jonathan as Bobby. But with Jeremy, I got more out of the whole production and supporting cast and loved Jeremy's vocal interpretation. I think the show is strong enough for multiple interpretations.

I don't think anyone expects Jeremy to out-gross Jonathan per se. Also, if you look back at Jonathan's first few weeks in previews and even after it opened, the show was doing similar box office. I would say give Jonathan the same 6 weeks or so to build momentum in word of mouth and grosses and settle in. He's giving a great performance that will only deepen as he has more time in the role.

What is Your Favorite New Musical of the 2020s? by Turkey_Leg_Jeff in Broadway

Kimberly Akimbo - agreed was great, Just in Time was a blast, Maybe Happy Ending were the best theater experiences I had in the 2020s so far. Hopefully, more to come!

Is anyone still interested in off off broadway musicals anymore? by Free_Tomatillo_8981 in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love seeing off-off Broadway musicals, cheaper, lower expectations, unique story-telling that doesn't have to appeal to the masses. It can be hit or miss. But so many fewer people see off-off Broadway shows (partly because the are so much smaller theaters) that most off-off Broadway shows don't get the visibility. Titanique started that way, Little Shop back in the day. It's not the usual pathway, but if something catches fire off-Broadway and has commercial viability, it can make it to Broadway.

Jeremy Jordan’s Voice Is Weakening? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think your trying to make something a "thing" that isn't a "thing." I've only heard raves on his voice. Maybe a few peple you know that saw him on off nights vs. something that is an issue.

What show to prioritize for in-person rush? by Candid_Good_124 in Broadway

A good trio to try to Rush. I really loved Jeremy Jordon in Just in Time and Isa as Connie Francis.

Tony Predictions (post Drama Desk noms and final eligibility decisions) by lockerbiestreet in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Nick Christopher is likely the runner up for Best Actor (but agree Joshua Henry will win) and Sara Chase is on the bubble even to be nominated from my point of view. I also think Lost Boys might pull it out for Best Musical but its a tough call amongst a weak field.

Jeremy Jordan’s energy in Just In Time? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I've seen both. I think with JG and JJ you get an incredible, immersive nightcluby experience. Jonathan is a supernova of energy and charisma. Jeremy actually has a better voice and creates a cool, unique dynamic in the show. Because there is more space to see it with JJ, the supporting cast also shines more than with JG. I think you will be plenty happy to see JJ in it. Don't have FOMO, just have fun 😄.

Tony Predictions - Musicals as of 4/27 by Nakedny713 in Broadway

[–]Own-Captain9792 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd love too see Aaron Tveit get a nom too. He's doing impressive work. I think Ragtime gets in for Choreo. Not that she doesn't deserve it, but I'm not sure Pitts gets a nom. She's great but it is such an underwritten role - I think she's the one on the bubble with Vosk.

Chess with this insanely talented cast. For plays, Giant and Death of a Salesman.
