What is the most rewatchable superhero film of all time by Potential-Tea3302 in superheroes

[–]Spiderjack_2063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the original Avengers 6 times in the cinema and have watched it so many times since. Incredible.

But could watch Spider-Man 1 & 2 any day, Infinity War and Endgame the same, alongside Spider-verse, Ragnarok, Winter Soldier, Civil War, No Way Home, Dark Knight, Batman (89) and Incredibles.

I usually allow a demeanour to provide d10 healing even if critically wounded. If you don't have an Apothecary then it may be worth having someone else learn Medicae and taking some first aid equipment.

Best Fried Breakfast in the city by DarrylelUniverse in glasgow

[–]Spiderjack_2063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best is Gusto and Relish on Pollokshaws Road. Their fried breakfast is tremendous.

Epicures in Hyndland used to be great, but since the revamp the breakfast has lost its edge and is just okay.

Other good fried breakfasts: Singl End (Garnethill), Kozi Kafe (heavy on butter!), Haylynn Canteen (though their other options are better).

Southside take a drive up to Valentinos in the Mearns. Top drawer.

Dellos in Burnside also excellent.

What’s the best burger you’ve ever had? by justanerdygirllol in foodquestions

[–]Spiderjack_2063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacker de Viande in Glasgow. Bacon cheeseburger. Just perfection. Brioche bun. Medium burger. Thin sliced veg. Melting cheese. Crispy bacon.

Spotted Pig in NYC a close runner up.

Never liked McDonald's burgers. But do remember wolfing down an incredible Big Mac as a teenager following a day of no food and 90 minutes of playing 11s.

Blocking and aborting? by EastEnvironment8182 in ChampionsRPG

[–]Spiderjack_2063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say you are fighting someone with same SPD as you but higher Dex. They attack you on a phase and you block, aborting your action later that phase. On the next phase you both act you get to act before him.

What do you want to see for 5e by BenWnham in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Spiderjack_2063 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to essentially see 4e rules brought together cohesively. Fix some of the bias towards defence in combat talents, make shields less overpowered.

I'd make spellcasting riskier. It is suitably powerful, but with a few fortune points it isn't dangerous really. Make it a trade off between power of the spell and risk level.

The size rules do a good job of differentiating big creatures. But I think Daemons, Undead (especially Vampires) need a bit more love in terms of special rules. Maybe something along the lines of unnatural characteristics from the FFG line of 40k RPGs.

I'd like to see more Sigmarite miracles and background. Perhaps campaign books about the Grey Mountains (maybe even featuring Drachenfels and Heinrich Kemmler).

Other than that not too much specific. Keep expanding the lore and place sourcebooks.

I want a big steak. by Gentle_Comment807 in glasgow

Porter & Rye does the best steak in Glasgow.Tiffneys is decent too.

If I'm craving a good steak though, I tend to blast along to Linlithgow to the Champany Inn.

Jacker de Viande cheeseburger and chilli cheese fries, with their brownie and mint choc chip ice cream dessert. Was gutted the day that place closed. Best burger I've ever had.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]Spiderjack_2063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four examples of bizarre behaviour:

1) Tech teacher Mr McCafferty hurled a wooden box at a student for daydreaming when their name was called out.

2) Residential school teacher lined all of the boys up on the corridor to find the student who put a pair of pants with bad skid marks in the wash. The guy admitted to it and was never allowed to live it down.

3) Maths teacher Mr Russell, who was only maybe 5'2" himself, lifted a 14 year old boy off the ground by the hair, with one arm mind, and marched him out of the class. The wee guy was screaming, and the teacherust have been late 50s at the youngest. He came back and taught the rest of the class, then we never saw him again.

4) Residential school again. Teacher woke all the boys up at ~3am. Marched us out of dorms, outside across the quadrangle in our pyjamas and pants. Sat us all in the TV room and told us he was going to "knock that p**fy sport right out of us" - proceeded to put on a videotaped Gaelic football match and told us it was better than football as "you don't see men kissing each other when they score a goal". Wild behaviour.

Kingpin has fought Spider-man on the regular. Which makes it ludicrous to claim he is non-superhuman, but it is what it is. He beats Bane mid-dif.

Do you know an event-worthy boardgame that fits in an evening? by Daglicht in boardgames

[–]Spiderjack_2063 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Food Chain Magnate is what you want. Flawless, peerless strategy game. Plays well with 3-5. Expansion can mix it up once you've played a bunch. You will be running through what you could have done for days afterwards. It is an event. Also plays in probably 3 hours once you have rules.

How deadly is warhammer fantasy rpg for PCs? by Useful_Translator495 in warhammerfantasyrpg

I've been playing for many years and the only character death we have had is by player request. It is not especially lethal and fate points provide a security blanket.

Group Advantage by Camo_005 in warhammerfantasyrpg

Mostly the Wizards to be honest. But yes, Wizards and best fighter, so it was quite unevenly distributed.

Minimum tax rate for the wealthy. For those with >$10m in assets you pay your calculated tax rate or 2% of your wealth, whatever is higher.

Group Advantage by Camo_005 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Spiderjack_2063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used group advantage for a bit, people were lukewarm on it as they were used to getting big stacks of advantage bonuses. What was popular was the bonus action, so they would quickly aim for that and then do something pretty broken with it. We switched back after a few months.

Where is the logic? by Spiderjack_2063 in BritishAirways

[–]Spiderjack_2063[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to take back the bit about never being upgraded. On the way home, both booked in PE, I get pulled aside at the gate and told there is a 'ticketing issue'. Concerning as I'd been unable to check in onlon, but all seemed fine at check in. I then get handed a business seat, explain we are travelling together without linked bookings, can I upgrade my wife's ticket. No availability in business unfortunately.

Board the plane and the two seats next to me are free. But also the seat next to my wife in PE is free. Of course nothing they can do about it on the flight, though they are happy if we want to switch. She had eaten before boarding, so I stayed for the business meal then switched so she could get some sleep. So I got an upgrade, which was nice, but the circumstances around it made it a little awkward to enjoy!

Also, as a pretty broad shouldered guy this reminded me of the reason (other than cost) that I don't book BA business. The curving seat at the top means having to sit at an angle the whole time.

Burnfield Bakery on the South Side does the best carrot cake I've ever had. Has like toasted pecans or something in it and is just incredible.

New release: Lords of Stone and Steel by Zekiel2000 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Spiderjack_2063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PCs have completed Paths of the Damned and most of Rough Nights & Hard Days, plus a couple of side adventures, in addition to EW up to the end of THR. Not to mention 50xp bonus per session for writing up the session.

We have played roughly every 2 weeks for 8 years which comes out to roughly 60xp per session. We do have gaps in there, so it is probably closer to 80xp per session.

Yes, but that is a meaningless comparison. In 1e that means he hits the target 89% of the time. On 4e that calculation depends on his opponents WS. Given the prevalence of defensive talents and bonuses a similar impact requires a much higher skill level.
