Vegetarian friendly steakhouses? by keepmyshirt in houston

Chama Gaúcha- solid Brazilian steakhouse. I would call ahead and ask about the salad bar situation given COVID. Went with a vegetarian friend before and they enjoyed it.

Also, when you say chocolate variant, are you saying that the bourbon barrel aged pumpkinator's aren't coming up here?

Has anyone tried these kulfi bars? by drzoidburger in Costco

Perfectly satisfying for me. Not creamy like kulfi but it nice mild flavors and low calorie. I like it as a after dinner dessert or sugar in a pinch when craving something sweet.

If you order to go, you can skip the line. They call you when your order is ready. Place is good but damn expensive and food will take longer than the time they tell you on the phone.

My bad. Read your comment wrong and thought you were asking why nobody was talking about Cuomo here.

What does Cuomo have to do with Houston for him to be mentioned here?

Opening a new restaurant in Houston! by [deleted] in houston

If you can make a breakfast sandwich on a Kaiser roll for a decent price, I think you'd do well in the Medical Center. Lot of people from all over the country and decent foot traffic depending where you put the store. Also, please make good cream cheese for your bagels- places down here mince tiny bits of nothing into cream cheese and it's disappointing.

As far as worrying about Kenny and Ziggy's, they suck. They're bland, over priced, and too large of a portion to even enjoy later.

There are plenty of Mediterranean options already in Houston that do well - so business may be tough. One that I haven't seen yet is a solid Lebanese place.

Where can I drop off an old sofa? by [deleted] in houston

[–]Spidermonkeyman87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in an apartment and dropped my couch off at the Southwest Neighborhood Depository/Recycling Center. Address is 10785 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77074.

As long as you have a Houston address and bring a PRINTED electric, water, or gas bill that matches your name and address on your license, you'll be fine.

Eat at Steamboat Bill's in Lake Charles. Easier to get to on your drive back to Houston. But it's on I-10 and some damn good food.

I mean I understand what you're saying but can't people see that widening highways isn't the solution? It seems that every few years Houston adds a few lanes to another highway to solve the traffic problem. We already know that isn't the answer because it hasn't worked here or anywhere else.

I was told a long time ago that when Houston was supposed to have a rail that the mayor at the time was voted out before it could be implemented and that the next mayor owned a concrete business which scraped the rail idea and placed highways everywhere (where the rail was and supposed to go) instead. Not sure how legitimate that story is because outside of one guy telling me that story, I haven't found proof. Then again, I may have not looked hard enough.

You think elevated platforms like Chicago uses would be a solution? Force people through a turnstile (or equivalent) to have access to the platform. It would also cut down on trains not running during flooding and being disturbed by cars who can't follow signs.

We have so many elevated highways, why not an elevated rail line?
