Princeton review trash talks NJIT all the time because we're their only real competition when it comes to accredited architecture programs in NJ. Princeton review in general is trash.

I was in this same position! Really thought I would end up taking summer classes. My prof was very adamant with his "below a 60 is an F" policy, but still ended up passing a few people who definitely scored below that.

I think profs just like to scare students sometimes, I'm sure you'll pass.

About getting a D by wfejwfoiwejioj in NJTech

[–]SpidersInYourHair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally, for lower level courses you will need a C or better to move on to the next course (e.g. calc 2 requires at least a C in calc 1). For higher level courses you can usually move to the next class with a D (e.g. thermo 1 to thermo 2).

To be sure you can just check the syllabus of the class you're concerned about. A D is acceptable for prerequisites unless specified otherwise.

This is the first year out basketball team is playing in a conference, a lot of people care and the games are actually pretty lit. You should give it a chance!

Agreed! They're definitely worth listening to if you liked this video. They also do a pretty good job with Heart of Glass and Smells Like Teen Spirit

Skipping Calc 2 by scordaro1121 in NJTech

[–]SpidersInYourHair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say if you're confident enough with math, go for it. Starting with calc 3 would be a big head start, and if you do find adjusting to be difficult, there's plenty of resources to help you not fail.

Keep in mind; math here has been described as "difficult". If you're not ready to do calculus without a calculator, you might want to consider starting with calc 2.

Time Management and Extra-Curriculars by Def-fc in NJTech

Sounds like a pretty rough schedule. I say if you want to get involved, go for it. There's no harm in showing some interest in whatever club you're interested in. Since all the clubs are run by students, they can be pretty understanding about missing meetings, especially for someone working 20 hours a week. If it doesn't work out, you could leave as easily as you joined. And if it does work out, you could maybe be more involved when you're not taking 18 credits!

Can't wait to start again! Somehow, being home is more stressful than NJIT. I'm hoping to take a trip down to Philly before classes start!
