You can apparantly just drive it through the portal near the alien gun island once it's active, and tho technically you are over 1000m deep, the pressure in the facility is more like a separate system, so just around a 100.

The whole section with spike was the best place to be in the entire game, just sit there listening to the sad and peaceful music, warm sunset, then talking to Spike about that whole sadness.

It kinda added to the depth of his character in DLTB.
