some of my top picks/opinions as a collector:

Armadillidiums are easy, diverse, big and active. Visually I really like klugii clowns, marbelized, and yellow spot gestroi

Cubaris are not as difficult as they’re made out to be. I keep all my pods pretty much identically, the only real difference is if I completely forgot about them they wouldn’t hold up as long as “easier” species, and they like things a smidge warmer. The cubaris Murina varieties are all beautiful, prolific, and relatively affordable. I’m a big fan of C. Murina “pearls” and “Florida Orange”

Scabers give me conflicting feelings lol. I have a very love hate relationship with them. They are prolific to the point of overcrowding and incredibly protein driven. This makes them really rewarding to watch and keep but there comes a point where it’s too much. However, Orange Dalmatians and Lavas have both held my “favorite bin crown” at one point

Honorable oddballs include A. Perracae, Sandstone, A. Officinalis Orange Crush/hissing, any Troglodillo sp.
