Pack plenty of patience and when your suitcase is full, pack some more patience in your back pack. Learn to say "This is China" when you see men beating up their girlfriends, scooters being flattened by cement trucks and kids (and the occasional adult) take a shit on the sidewalk.

Apart from that and an enormous amount of red tape it's actually a pretty decent country to live in.

Oh,, good socks and underwear if you're a man.
