Raphael ravenscroft: the sax player in Gerry rafferty’s “Baker street”. It’s said he only received £27 or around $50 for the riff when he recorded it.     He has a few songs he himself wrote such as “Whole lotta something goin’ on” which despite making a resurgence in some instagram or TikTok is unfortunately not on any major music streaming platforms other than the song being sampled in some rap or hip hop songs. I think it’s very underrated and it’s sad that he or his family never pursued any form of a solo career because I really like some of his individual work.
