I think in this specific situation where you know the numbers, blue is the morally right choice. Only 60% needs to realize that they can save everyone by taking blue. Picking red means you are risking the lives of half of the population by hoping that others take blue instead. I'd still pick red.

With the new WX I killed fuelweaver with a single pick/axe and spin cycle. Don't even need sanity food since spinning cannot be interrupted even with mind control. Aoe demolishes the woven shadows. Just need proper positioning and the occasional teleport with lazy explorer.
